Davina Has Revealed Why She Didn’t Come To The ‘Married At First Sight’ Reunion

Now that we have all fully recovered from the two-part Married at First Sight: Grand Reunion Event, it’s hard not to wonder what could have been if some of the show’s more controversial contestants had shown up.

I am, of course, speaking about Sam Ball and Davina Rankin. Both of their names were mentioned last night, as the experts confirmed their invitations were declined. Since his 2019 controversy with Ines Basic, Sam has continued to distance himself from the show, even recently claiming that MAFS producers coaxed him into body-shaming Lizzie Sobinoff. Sounds fake, but OK.

Davina made a name for herself in 2018 when she started a short-lived ‘affair’ (one date to be precise!) with Dean Wells, behind the backs of their TV spouses Ryan Gallagher and Tracey Jewel. Last night, Dean and Tracey joined the experts on the couch to debrief about MAFS’ first infidelity scandal and Davina’s input was sorely missed.

Davina is honestly one of the most iconic MAFS villains in history. That’s just fast facts.

So why did she not show up? Davina took to her Instagram stories to address her absence from the reunion. “I had so many messages about the MAFS: Grand Reunion last night. Yes, I did get invited to go, but I have a little munchkin at home now. I am very happy to leave that part of my life in the past,” she began.

“It was many years ago, I think it was four years ago that we filmed. For me to go back in there, it’s unnecessary but it was really cool to see everyone from my season back there — but also really weird to see just how much drama goes on in all the other seasons compared to ours!

“It was fun watching, that’s for sure. It’s definitely nice being on the other side of it. I like laying in bed watching it and not having wine poured on you, so that’s a win. Saying that, you guys know that [my partner] Jax and I have been ‘no TV and no devices’ for a certain amount of time now, so we’ve actually been a little bit naughty. We’ve been watching TV two nights in a row and it actually fucks with us.” Errr, OK Davina!

Davina and her partner Jaxon Manuel welcomed their newborn daughter Mila-Mae at the end of 2019. Along with being an influencer, Davina runs a brunch events company. Tbh, it looks like she’s living the goddamn dream, so we don’t blame her for not wanting to return to her reality TV roots.
