Harrison’s Downfall: That Disorderly ‘MAFS’ Dinner Party Recapped Via The Best Tweets

Ahh, the downfall of Harrison. We’ve all been waiting for this moment.

After weeks of terrible acting, fake tears, and backflipping over whether he’s into Bronte or not, I’d love to say we saw Harrison’s final performance at a dinner party last night but I’m not holding my breath just yet.

After dumping Bronte via text, Harrison then tried to deflect from his actions by putting heat on other couples during the dinner party — successfully getting into Jesse’s brain (more on that in a bit!) but unsuccessfully doing any more damage to Layton and Melinda.

They are strong and united once again! We love to see it!

As for our other couples: Alyssa and Duncan are still somewhat rocky post-retreat, Jesse and Claire SEEMED great up until Harrison entered the chat, Tahnee and Ollie are still angels, Cam decided to let his hair down which for some reason was a storyline in itself, and Hugo and Tayla decided to exit the experiment. Except Tayla had first ghosted him, then returned asking for another chance.

Keeping up? Me neither. Let’s just laugh at the funny tweets!

Here’s what happened during last night’s Married at First Sight dinner party.

We learn that Harrison ended his marriage with Bronte over a text message.

Harrison comes to ask Bronte if they can still be friends, and she says she can’t be friends with someone she was falling for. Harrison doesn’t understand why she’s so upset because they have an opportunity to be friends.

At the cocktail party, after getting a text message from Tayla saying she has left the experiment, Claire pulls a poor confused Hugo aside and fills him in that his wife has done a runner.

Bronte and Harrison make their very separate (but together) entrance and Bronte fills the girls in on Harrison’s breakup text. Harrison pretends to be upset in front of the boys.

The dinner party is extremely tense until Alyssa addresses the “massive elephant in the room”. Harrison tries to deflect, but Melinda goes in for the kill. Harrison then tries to say that Bronte broke his trust.

Bronte finally wakes TF up and calls Harrison out on all his past bullshit. She then storms out in tears, while Lyndall comforts her. Meanwhile, Harrison tries to tell the dinner party that he’s been taken for a ride.

Claire calls Harrison out on his emotional manipulation and he tries to label her outburst as emotional, as well as saying she and Jesse have the worst relationship in the experiment. She retaliates by calling him a giant red flag.

Harrison then tells the group that Bronte told him that Claire’s only in the experiment to repair her image after what happened with Adam and Jesse.

With Harrison’s words clearly getting in Jesse’s head, Harrison then tells Jesse he’s a great guy and deserves better. Jesse expresses his concerns that Claire is sticking around to fix her image because he doesn’t feel like she is into him romantically.

All of a sudden, Tayla swans in to break up the tension and pulls Hugo aside and gets mad at him for getting everyone get offside with her during the retreat. Tayla says she’s willing to give things a go, but Hugo puts her in her place and they finally call it quits.

Tayla then confesses she’s responsible for Hugo’s lost wedding ring and he didn’t actually lose it. Classic gag!

And to wrap things up, Melinda asks Harrison what’s next for him and Bronte. He says he doesn’t see a future with Bronte, and then tells Melinda she seems like a living nightmare. Cute deflection! Layton and Rupert both call Harrison out on his bullshit. FINALLY! Some men speaking UP!

Married at First Sight returns Sunday night at 7pm on Channel Nine.
