The Dramatic ‘MAFS’ Couples Retreat: Part Two Recapped Via The Best Tweets
Want even more MAFS in your life? Put the kettle on and listen Punkee’s Reality Tea podcast, out now.
To say Married at First Sight upped the ante this week during couples retreat is an understatement. We’re still reeling from the drama and we still have a dinner party episode to go!
Last night saw part two of the explosive couples retreat air, focusing on the fallout of Domenica and Olivia’s fight at girls’ night that resulted in Dom smashing a wine glass.
As the news got back to the group, Olivia’s slightly uh, embellished version was heard first while Dom gave herself some space from the group dynamic to clear her head. She later apologised to the women and the group as a whole, owning up to her actions, which led to Olivia calling her out once again.
Things then took a turn when Jackson accepted Dom’s apology on behalf of the group, before gently calling Olivia out later on her snide remarks. This left Olivia inconsolable and on the verge of a panic attack.
In short, the whole episode was A LOT.
In nicer news, Mitch and Ella were back on track, Kate and Matt even shared a spa bath together, and Jack’s support of Dom was beautiful to watch.
Oh yeah, and Carolina and Daniel are still flirting outrageously over the phone, but honestly who really cares.
Let’s recap last night’s messy Married At First Sight couples retreat via the best tweets:
Jack was quick to comfort Dom as soon as he found out she was upset and it warmed all of our hearts.
Can I just say, I know we all hate ob Olivia but let’s have a little love for Jack! Jack ran to Domenica and no judgment took care of her. That is a partner. #mafsau #mafsaustralia pic.twitter.com/zrSFteYyLs

I LOVE JACK SO MUCH. He is such a pure soul, and I love how he’s trying to calm her down while not telling her it doesn’t matter. Men please take notes ? #MAFS #MAFSAU

I want to applaud Jack for the way he responded to Dom in the moment when she was sobbing uncontrollably. It was perfect and gentlemenly. #MAFSAU

How gorgeous was Jack with Dom tonight? The way handled her upset spelled love, even if he doesn’t realise it yet #MAFS #MAFSAustralia #MAFSAU pic.twitter.com/v2fpQXBkyd

Olivia tells her side of the story to the rest of the group and it’s gotten slightly more dramatic. Ella calls her out in defence of Dom, but Olivia is hellbent on saying Dom waved the wine glass at her “like a weapon”.
She isn’t waving it. Olivia. My god. #mafs #mafsau pic.twitter.com/RKdoF37BkY

Olivia gaslighting and accusing Dom of assault is tone death to Jackson’s family history with DV! #MAFS #MAFSAU

Olivia: Holly needs to stand by her abusive husband.
Also Olivia: I would like to burn Dom at the stake because I don’t like her voice. #MAFSAU pic.twitter.com/GSkYF0LX7H

Olivia constantly calling Dom white trash, while acting like THE trashiest most stereotypical self victimised white girl is making my fucking head spin I’m actually out of words… I only have anger lol #MAFS #MAFSAU
— Lami ? (@heungminnie) March 8, 2022
Olivia calling someone white trash when she LITERALLY CUT UP A FRIEND’S DRESS AND SENT IT BACK TO HER IN THE POST?! #mafs #mafsau

The next day, Jack debriefs with the boys, leading to Jackson talking to Olivia about what went down. He encourages her to be the bigger person.
I honestly don’t think I have ever met a person that openly admits they are happy to take the low road and want to hold a grudge forever over a person they really don’t know. Run Jackson run #MAFSAU

Jackson is so underrated, huge respect for him this episode for not blindly supporting Olivia #MAFSAU #MAFSAustralia

Meanwhile, Kate and Matt are sharing a spa together and Tamara is avoiding spending time with Brent.
Carolina: Screams!
Olivia: Swears!
Domenica: Breaks a fucking glass!
Kate still like… #MAFS #MAFSAU pic.twitter.com/gIFufmza91— Married At First Sight Experts (@mafsexperts) March 7, 2022
Without being rude to Matt, there’s something about his dialogue delivery which makes me understand why Kate has retreated into her own internal organs #mafsau

Al writes Sam a poem to show her he’s still keen to make things work out for them.

Al is the palette cleanser in between a bitter sandwich of Carolina and Olivia #MAFSAU #MAFSAustralia
— Riley Krause (@cavemankrause) March 8, 2022
Al’s sweet take: “that was the best poem of all time, she loved it.”
Sam’s take: “I feel like I’ve just been read an obituary.”#MAFSAU— Nicky Arnall (@NickyArnall) March 8, 2022
God I'd listen to 12 straight hours of Al's poetry over Olivia's self-serving bullshit.#MAFS #MAFSAU

Carolina and Dion have another argument after Carolina tries to gaslight Dion into thinking she’d put in an effort to build a friendship with him by asking him to go for a run??
Carolina: "Dion doesn't even like rap!"
Ummm here's Dion dressed like every member of Run DMC.#MAFSAU #MAFS #MAFSAustralia pic.twitter.com/lGlG7K1ZYa

I said it last night, and I’ll say it again, No matter what you think of Dom, she owns her shit, shows remorse, apologises and never tries to pretend it never happened. It’s an admirable quality tbh #MAFS #MAFSAU
— Steph the sarcastic sequin (@Steph_Simmons89) March 8, 2022
domenica reflecting and seeing that throwing the glass was not okay and willing to apologise for it vs olivia thinking she didn’t do anything wrong and playing victim speaks VOLUMES #mafs #mafsau
— hann¨̮ (@xamyabmai) March 8, 2022
Jackson calls out Olivia for her snide remarks, leading to her having a breakdown.
Dom: owns her behaviour apologises, and explains that it was a trauma reaction but that doesn't excuse it.
Olivia: claims Dom is trying to be a victim. Gets gently called on her behaviour and bursts into tears to play the victim.#mafs #MAFSAU— Elle K (@thenoblecorgi) March 8, 2022

I think Jackson handled that brilliantly. He was still trying to support his partner but was fair to Dom and was prepared to call out Olivia in a calm way when she clearly over stepped the mark #MAFSAustralia #MAFSAU
