The Final ‘MAFS’ Commitment Ceremony Recapped Via Funny Tweets

Ahhh we’re nearly at the end of the road.

That’s what I said to myself last night when I was trying to get the train home from a My Chemical Romance concert, and also because it was the final Married at First Sight commitment ceremony.

Despite the fact that at least half the couples should’ve broken up, everyone opted to stay to hit up hometowns and really test their floundering relationships. Cam and Lyndall? Why bother. Alyssa and Duncan? She has a child. Rupert and Evelyn? What nice friends. Bronte and Harrison? Don’t even get me started.

But we’re so close to the end, you guys, and why throw in the towel now when the final vows are just around the corner and Bronte and Harrison can both dump each other in a fiery way as if that wasn’t planned from the start.

Here’s last night’s Married at First Sight FINAL commitment ceremony recapped via the best tweets.

All of us watching this show

Layton and Melinda faced the experts first. John calls Layton out for not understanding the task or listening to Melinda’s feelings about feeling rejected and abandoned. Despite the tension, they both opt to stay.

After a tense session, we got a palate cleanser with Tahnee and Ollie. Ollie said he really struggled with the partner swap challenge and realised he had insecurities. Both chose to stay (surprise!) with John commending Ollie on his honesty.

Evelyn and Rupert are up next, and Evelyn decides to make a statement to Harrison and calls him out on his bullshit. She then says she’s been feeling underappreciated by Rupert and wants to be courted. Rupert meanwhile is too worried about being rejected by Evelyn. Imagine if they just had a conversation! Lol!

Lyndall and Cameron unpack their latest dilemma to the experts. Alessandra asks Cameron what ways he could possibly work around the distance and he says he needs to play it by ear but that he’s open to compromise. They both choose to stay. Just break up already!

Alyssa and Duncan are asked how they’ve resolved things since the last commitment ceremony. Duncan opens up about being upset post-partner swap and feeling rejected by Alyssa and Alyssa calls him out on the fact he never told her he cried. Alessandra tries to reason with Alyssa who ends up in tears.

Harrison and Bronte step up and Harrison says there’s a lot of work that needs to be done on their relationship. He’s upset he’s been called a manipulator. When pressed, Bronte says Harrison has crossed her boundaries and called her “fake, a liar, and a gaslighter”. Harrison says he doesn’t recall saying those things.

Expert Mel calls Harrison out on playing the amnesia card and says she doesn’t believe him. Both Bronte and Harrison choose to stay. Melinda calls Harrison out for saying that he’s “100% done” and wanting to leave. Then (FINALLY!) Ollie calls Harrison out for saying on the boys’ night that he didn’t want to go to Perth at all and didn’t want Bronte to be his tour guide.

Married at First Sight returns tonight at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
