Partnered up with Hugo Armstrong, the two haven’t exactly hit it off, with Hugo failing to tick Tayla’s boxes and Tayla making him sleep on the freezing cold daybed during their honeymoon.
Tayla then went on to tell her new husband he wasn’t her type and she was looking for someone the “opposite” of him. “I actually requested someone that didn’t talk much,” she told a startled Hugo. “I wanted a man’s man. Tradie. Footballer. Bit rowdy.”

Hailing from Tassie, Tayla has been single for a year after discovering her partner of six years was cheating on her.
The nurse has always gone for “footy guys” in the past and told the experts she wanted to break her cycle of unhealthy relationship patterns. She’s admitted to being high-maintenance, bad-tempered, and picky with men, and wants a partner with good morals who will back her whether she’s right or wrong.
Tayla’s dad, Darren Winter, is a former footballer who ran for the United Australia Party in 2019. He is quite the controversial figure, with one of his old Facebook posts coming under scrutiny where he called teenage girls “shitheads” and said a movement should be brought back to discipline them with “a slap across the face.” It was later said the post was a “joke”.
Tayla herself has caused quite the stir on social media before her appearance even aired on MAFS: before her Instagram account was taken over, she dropped a Story accusing Lyndall Grace of being a bully.
It’s since come out that Tayla is allegedly rumoured to be part of a sexting scandal with Lyndall’s TV husband Cam Woods, something they’re allegedly both denying even though rumours are circulating that the two have gotten together post-filming.
In other dramatic news still to come on the show, it’s also alleged that Tayla will overhear her husband Hugo calling her a C-bomb. Uh oh!
Reported by Daily Mail late last year, Tayla allegedly hears Hugo roasting her during an accidental butt-dial. Perhaps on the boys’ night? “Tayla heard him calling her a c*nt,” a production insider said. “She felt humiliated.”
It also appears Tayla, who has been deemed the Tassie Tiger, has already started numerous social accounts for a podcast aptly titled Tassie Tigers.
We can only assume a whole bunch of tea will be dropped post-MAFS.
Say what you want about Tayla and some of her outrageous behaviour and comments, but the girl sure knows how to shake up an experiment.
