Derek MasterChef Australia

In Loving Memory Of Derek From ‘MasterChef’ Australia

The other night I switched on the TV (something I rarely do outside of MAFS season) and I was introduced to Derek from MasterChef Australia.

Not face-to-face unfortunately, even though my face was pressed up against my TV. But as I slurped a lukewarm, watery pumpkin soup for dinner, I watched Derek make a perfect Vietnamese soup, with a flavoursome broth that had the judges smacking their lips.

Huge same.

Now I am not a religious MasterChef viewer and I have to admit this is the first time I had tuned into the show this year. Call it MAFS fatigue or pre-Bachelor preparation but I had tuned out of the reality world for a while.

But, honestly, it’s downright rude no one alerted me to Derek SOONER.

Upon discovering he got eliminated, I thought it was time to give him the dedication he deserves.

So in celebration of Derek from MasterChef Australia gracing us with his presence, here’s literally just a list of times he was just perfect for our screens.

#1. When he got undressed, oh my

Some of you may argue he was simply buttoning or unbuttoning his chef attire but I will continue to believe that he was going for a full strip show.

#2. When it was hard to focus on who the exact star of this photo was… but obviously it’s his biceps

#3. When he was deep in thought about what to make me for dinner

#4. Until he realised the way to my heart was always through dumplings

#5. When he looked at his croissants with the love of a father looking at his newborn child

#6. When he broke our hearts with this quote, but also made me reactivate my Tinder
