10 People We Reckon Should Be The New ‘MasterChef’ Judges
Our world was shaken yesterday after learning that none of the MasterChef judges would be returning next season.
All three judges – Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris – have confirmed that they won’t be continuing with the popular cooking show after negotiations with Network Ten fell through.
While this is obviously very sad, especially in the case of Matt who IMHO is one of the most delightful people on Aussie TV, it’s also pretty exciting. It’s the first opportunity to pick three new faces to front the series and the options are endless.
We’ve selected 10 people we reckon should be the new MasterChef judges:
#1. Poh Ling Yeow
If Poh isn’t immediately confirmed as a MasterChef judge in the coming days, we riot.
#2. Maggie Beer
She’s always been the fourth MasterChef judge anyways, so let’s make it official.
#3. Adam Liaw
Imagine all that Twitter banter live?! Adam will bring a bit of humour back to the show.
#4. Nigella Lawson
I’m aware getting Nigella to sign on as a judge would be an impossible task, but a girl can dream.
#5. Kylie Kwong
As one of Australia’s most beloved celebrity chefs, Kylie would absolutely boss it in this role.
#6. Callum Hann
Who better to lead MasterChef’s second life than the winner of All-Stars? Callum can cook with the best of them.
#7. Marion Grasby
Marion is a MasterChef legend who has crafted an incredible career since her season. She is definitely up for the job.
#8. Curtis Stone
This is a given and tbh, I think he’s the most likely to have already been offered the job. He would bring a bit of star power to the judging panel.
#9. Julie Goodwin
As the first winner of MasterChef and pressure test veteran, Julie has to be in with a chance.
#10. Hayden Quinn
Nothing wrong with a bit of eye candy, hey? I would personally love to see Hayden wearing a cravat.

We are hoping to learn the judges’ replacement in the near future, but until then please stop asking Adam Liaw about it. He has had enough.
I’ve had about 30 different interview requests in the past half hour about the #MasterChefAU judges leaving, so to save trouble:
1. I know nothing about this beyond what’s online; and
2. I am at the pool with my kids so I am unlikely to agree to an interview in my smugglers.

Fair enough.
