Matt Agnew Has Taken A Swipe At ‘The Project’ After Heated Social Media Debate
Matt Agnew went pretty quiet after his season of The Bachelor, shirking the fame that came with the show.
So while his Instagram page now is mainly wholesome pics of his dog, or him showing off his luscious locks, Matt took to Instagram recently to take a stance on social media trolling.
It all kicked off on Wednesday night when hosts of The Project, Waleed Aly and Rachel Corbett, got into a heated discussion while debating Chrissy Teigen’s apology for cyber-bullying Courtney Stodden.
Rachel Corbett’s stance was that Chrissy Teigen was to fully blame for her past actions, while Waleed argued that platforms like Twitter encourage users to make remarks and vile comments, saying the apps “absolutely drag people into that.”
“The problem is the machine,” Waleed said. “And you’ve got to blow up this machine. Some platforms drive us into worse behaviour than other platforms.”
Rachel disagreed, saying “you cannot take that responsibility away from people.”

Matt Agnew later took to Instagram to agree with Rachel Corbett in a passionate post.
“Anyone with a shred of empathy and human decency will not wade into the realm of making death threats or telling people to kill themselves. Trying to suggest ‘the machine’ has any responsibility in such despicable, abhorrent behaviour is irresponsible and further enables garbage behaviour as it allows the shifting of blame,” Matt captioned the post.
“If all it takes is opening Twitter, Instagram, or [insert social media of choice] for you to start spewing vile hatred and telling people to kill themselves then the problem is not the machine; the problem is you,” he continued.
“@_rachelcorbett is right. Cancel culture is dumb. Making mistakes is the quintessential learning tool for humans, and it’s important we don’t destroy people for making mistakes and allow them an opportunity to learn and grow.”
