Nando’s Has Teamed Up With Support Act To Support The Aussie Music Industry
The good guys and gals at Nando’s are throwing their support behind a new cause, pledging 15,000 meals to help feed Support Act’s grant recipients.
With the music and arts industry hit particularly hard given the current global pandemic, leading music charity Support Act’s Covid-19 Crisis Relief grants are helping artists, crew members, and industry workers get back on their feet.
Since March, Support Act has provided close to $1 million in crisis relief to more than 400 artists and music workers across the country. Nando’s has chipped in over $200,000 worth by donating 15,000 meals which will be delivered through the grant program to support those doing it tough. Nando’s states they are a big support of the music industry, having fuelled hundreds of touring musicians through artist catering over the years, as well as bringing together emerging and established artists for their annual local and global Music Exchange workshops (MX).
“As a purpose-led business, feeding the nation during the pandemic has been really important to us. COVID-19 has unfortunately put our artist feeds and annual MX workshops on hold for now, but we wanted to keep supporting the industry. We love Support Act so we are super pleased to be working with them again, finding a new way to share the Nando’s love with artists, crew and industry workers in a field that’s so close to our hearts,” Nando’s said in a statement.
Since April, Nando’s have contributed more than $4.5 million worth of food to frontline healthcare workers and have generated an additional one million meals to Foodbank.
