Bobby Berk from Netflix’s reboot of Queer Eye has just quit the show.

The fan favourite still be on our screens for one last season, but the interior design expert has announced that Season 8 will be his last. At this stage, it seems that the other experts – Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Tan France and Antoni Porowski – will still continue to be part of the franchise.

The popular show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy became a staple in 2003, with the Fab Five experts consisting of Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez. Netflix’s Queer Eye launched in 2018 and has become a massive success for the streaming network, scooping up 10 Emmys in the process.

Bobby shared a selection of photos from the Netflix show on Instagram along with a note about his decision to depart the show.

“To the Queer Eye Community that have become family to me. The love that I have received from you all over the last six years has been absolutely surreal,” he wrote. “You have tuned in and been dedicated fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design. I learned from you all about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better.”

The TV personality went on to thank fans for embracing him, saying that he will never forget this chapter. He also expressed gratitude towards the past participants for letting the cast into their homes. “Every one of you have changed me for the better. I’m so very proud of all of you! Being able to help guide you to find the best version of yourselves is something I never took for granted and never will.”

“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that Season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon,” he added.
