Rhiannon From ‘The Bachelor’ On THAT Awkward Date & The ‘Unreal’ Style Editing
Last night Rhiannon and Ashlea both got the boot on The Badgelor.
While we may have only learned who Ashlea was last night, we did see Rhiannon spend some quality time with Honey Badge on a solo date last week… which ended a little awkwardly.
Punkee chatted to the newly free Rhiannon about that date, the missed kiss and last night’s dramatic cocktail party.
On the breaking of the fourth wall on the date:
“I died watching it! I had this horrible feeling that the chat with the producer would make the cut because after a minute or so of talking I noticed the cameraman filming and that’s when I got upset. I was like, ‘Oh God, they’re going to use this footage now.’ But to be honest, once I actually watched it I was almost glad because at least people could see I was normal.”
On the missed kiss:
“I don’t even know what I was thinking, it was all these champagnes I got some confidence in me. But we did get along really well, so I thought the next step was ‘give me a kiss!. He [Nick] was really good about it.”
On why she knew she was leaving:
“I just had a gut feeling, I was like, this doesn’t seem right. We had a chat at the cocktail party that wasn’t shown and we were just struggling to make conversation. I just knew I wasn’t feeling it and you kind of snap back to reality like ‘do I really care or is just because I’m in this place with one guy.'”
On Tenille and Romy’s dramatic fight:
“It was over-dramatised. There’s so much that doesn’t make it to TV that led to that moment. All the girls were talking about it [Tenille’s kiss], and it was just that Romy confronted Tenille to her face. I really like Tenille and I really like Romy. It’s just that Tenille had a strong opinion about kissing on a first date before she went on it. Then she got the date, and they kissed and she came back and she was excited and told everyone in detail and it put everyone back a little bit. But I’m sure it blew over really quickly the next day.”
On the ‘characters’ people are playing:
“Every character you’re seeing is totally dramatised. If someone is a little bitchy, they’re going to look like a massive bitch. I know that you see a negative side of Cat, Romy and Alisha, but they do have good hearts and they do say nice things about people, but you’re just not seeing it. Cass was a little besotted with Nick before she came in and now she looks like a clinger. And now I look like an overly awkward person because of my date but it’s not the case. You can’t take it seriously, you only see such a small amount. It’s a huge eye-opener to see it play out on TV.”
