Just Hear Me Out: Nothing Is Funnier Than The “Without My Pants” Episode Of ‘Round The Twist’

Whether anyone (or my parents) agrees or not, I consider myself a funny person. I like to laugh and make people laugh, and I can pinpoint the exact moment my love of comedy was first spiked: when I watched the ‘Without My Pants’ episode of Round The Twist. 

When I was 10 years old, nothing was funnier. Now that I’m in my 30s and have rewatched the episode since Round The Twist dropped on Netflix, I can confidently say that…still, nothing is funnier. For the unfamiliar, the ‘Without My Pants’ episode finds Pete Twist unable to finish any sentence without adding the words “without my pants”. Hi-lar-ious.

I distinctly remember it being my favourite episode as not only was it unprecedentedly funny, but it featured the older brother Pete heavily, who happened to be the hottest boy I had ever laid eyes on at the time.

Whether he is actually attractive is something I cannot judge, as when you’re a prepubescent teen girl any older brother in a TV show is considered an absolute hunk of perfection.

But I digress, back to ‘Without My Pants’. The episode begins with the Twist kids — Pete, Linda and Bronson — at the beach whale watching, when they spot a dog just low-key walking on water.

Then the dog just disappears in a green zap of energy.

Me when my boss asks me to stay back late on a Friday.

The kids are left confused, before the dog pops up again on the shore!

But then she tells me she’s opened a bottle of red.

The Twist kids later discover that the dog is named Shovel and his owner, Ben Byron, died trying to save the pup from drowning. After Pete gives Shovel a pat, all of a sudden he finds himself unable to stop saying “without my pants” at the end of every sentence.

It’s simply just so damn funny.

Pete tries to explain his problem to his father, but as he keeps finishing everything he says with “without my pants”, the dad replies deadpanned, “Don’t know what you’re going on about. You’ve got plenty of pants.”

SO FUNNY!!!!

At school the next day, Pete is supposed to give a class presentation and when his teacher Mr. Snapper makes him speak, he once again can’t help but tell everyone that he is without pants. Pants, he don’t have ’em!

Snapper tells Pete he can do his presentation the following day — but this pantless freak simply must bring pants.

The episode only gets funnier when the three siblings find Ben Byron’s bones and due to some mysterious magic, the bones make the kids start hysterically crying

The Twists crying while Pete continues to finish every sentence with “without my pants” just adds to the sheer absurdity of it all.

The crying tied with Pete incessantly saying “without my pants” made his class presentation all the more hilarious.

Add to this, anyone who came in contact with the Twists started to cry uncontrollably as well — so of course, hilarity ensues.

So how did Pete break his curse? Well, it turned out that Shovel was leading them to Ben Byron’s pants, as the dead man simply wanted to be buried WITH his pants.

After the Twists collected all his bones and gave him his pants, Ben Byron was finally happy to be laid to rest — and Pete was free!

This episode was high art.

My hot tip: if you’re ever having a bad day and need a giggle, chuck on ‘Without My Pants’ and your day is guaranteed to become great.
