Sex scenes are always a nice surprise in movies, unless you happen to be watching alongside your parents, of course.

But aside from this hazard, sex scenes have a tendency to focus on the man’s pleasure rather than the woman’s. Blowjob scenes are commonplace in films, as is passionate sex where a guy simply plows his genitals into a woman without any attempt to stimulate her in other ways.

This might come as a shock to some (men) but women don’t orgasm from giving men head (??), nor do they typically reach climax from penetrative sex on its own. This means that sex scenes are rarely prioritising women’s pleasure, instead it’s the man who gets off while the woman is merely there to provide an orgasm — not realistically have one herself.

This is obviously cooked because women are sexual beings and we deserve to get off too. It’s also not doing anyone any favours by portraying a man doing a few penetrative pumps resulting in a woman writhing in pleasure. Not going to happen!

7. Black Swan, Mila Kunis Goes Down On Natalie Portman

If you’re in the mood for some lesbian action, you can’t go past the scene where Mila Kunis performs oral sex on Natalie Portman in Black Swan. The scene comes about after the characters, prima ballerina Nina (Portman) and wild newcomer Odile (Kunis), return to Nina’s after a night of drinking. To up the kink factor, as Odile pleasures Nina, she transforms into Nina herself.

In The Cut is the oldest movie on this list but it’s got one hot-as-hell sex scene. This might be a movie that no one remembers, but it’s worth highlighting this 2003 flick for a sex scene involving Mark Ruffalo and Meg Ryan aka one truly hot couple.

Mark’s character Detective Giovanni bends Meg’s Franni over a bed, spreads her legs, and performs oral sex on her from behind, as she writhes in ecstasy. The whole sequence isn’t quick either, it lasts for two minutes.

3. Blue Valentine, Ryan Gosling Is A Giver
