Shane Gould Wishes She Formed An Alliance With Dirty Harry On ‘Survivor’
Australian Survivor: All Stars has officially kicked off, and by golly the lineup is epic.
From former winners to the return of some of the key players from past seasons: the Golden God himself David, Dirty Harry, Run-Me-Over-With-Your-Truck Locky, not to mention fan fave Shonee and the strategic Sharn, this season looks like it’ll be HUGE.
And it didn’t let us down last night, with our first eliminated contestant being former winner Shane Gould. It was a tense showdown between Shane and Dirty Harry, but it was the former Olympian who was sent packing.

Looking back on her short-lived time on this series of Survivor, Shane told Punkee that she wished she aligned with Harry and that her shoes were not “granny slippers”, thank you very much!
“The old lady in her slippers! Harry said that, but they weren’t old granny slippers, they were very practical water shoes and I was very clever in getting those, they dried quickly so you could sleep in them, you could swim in them, you could climb in them, you could run in them, they’re non-slip… but it was funny, I have great respect for Harry,” Shane said.
“After watching the game and talking about it this morning, I should’ve perhaps aligned myself with him. He was worried about me too but maybe if we aligned we could’ve been a power couple!”

Shane also talked about how she had studied Mat’s former footy games to work out his playing style, and that David may be a little too charming for his own good.
“David’s got charm, but he’s also a little bit blind, he can’t read people as well. He’s been able to get through life with charm so he’s not tuned into when people aren’t charmed by him.”
And on that reunion with Lydia? Shane wasn’t too surprised that she had a target on her back.

“Survivor is a really intense game and it messes with your head and your heart and your self-confidence. I think Lydia was still smarting from being eliminated in S3 so she brought that into S5. You can’t be playing the game from other seasons, that’s all over. You gotta start again and not bring your grudges or your revenge into the game. It’s ultimately going to eat you up because you won’t be paying attention.”
Shane also let us know her top three that she’d like to see take out the title of Sole Survivor:
“I’d like Sharn to be there, she’s quite a smart player and she’s very social and very strategic. I admire Harry’s game and his life story is really nice. And Tarzan too, he’s a nice guy, he’s an older guy with a bit of wit and street smarts about him so watch out for those three.”
