Another day, another reboot: The producer behind Despicable Me, Chris Meledandri, is rebooting the Shrek franchise and people are either wildly excited or very, very confused.

Announced by Variety, Meledandri said he’d be rebooting both Shrek and Puss In Boots, but he’s not looking to do a COMPLETE overhaul because of the iconic voiceovers by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy. In fact, he wouldn’t mind getting the whole band back together for the reboot.

“When you look back on those vocal performances they’re awesome, and while you certainly could make a case for a complete reinvention, I find myself responding to my own nostalgic feelings of wanting to go back to those characterisations,” Meledandri said.

Naturally, people have feelings about this news:

Some people are just confused:

Others are excited:

Even Smash Mouth weighed in:

Maybe it is the rom-com reboot we’ve all been waiting for:

No official word yet as to when this reboot will actually be happening, so until then you have plenty of time to rewatch all the OG Shrek movies.
