Just Hear Me Out: ‘Zack & Cody’s Tipton Trouble’ Is The Greatest Online Game To Ever Exist
When I was younger, you couldn’t get me off the computer, especially when The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was involved.
Whether it was the shitty pinball game that was built into the computer or Putt-Putt Saves The Zoo, I was obsessed with the incredibly basic graphics that came with a Windows 98 computer. But, by far, the best game that I used to play was Zack & Cody’s Tipton Trouble.
Zack & Cody’s Tipton Trouble, at its core, is an incredibly basic game. But, did that stop me from loving it and playing it every day after school? Absolutely not.
How The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody Game Worked
The premise of the game is simple. You play as both Zack and Cody on a mission to help their mother’s singing career. Here, you’re tasked with hanging up posters of your mum in the place of the Tipton Hotel advertisements that are scattered around the hotel.
It sounds all well and good but it’s your responsibility not to get caught by your mum (Carey Martin), London Tipton, Maddie Fitzpatrick, and Mr. Moseby who are aimlessly walking around.
You get three chances and if you don’t get up all the levels, you’re out!
I can not even begin to describe how addicted to this game I was.
Why Tipton Trouble Was The Best Game
First and foremost, this game was hard. Like, it was genuinely difficult. It took a great amount of precision with the arrow keys to escape the other characters walking around the hotel. And sure, while it may be easier on a Macbook Pro in 2021, a Windows 98 keyboard and mouse combo was the definition of struggle street.
But, even though the game was difficult, I never wanted to give up. There was something about the inviting smiley faces of all the other characters that made you want to keep going.
Secondly, the game was simple enough that my not-yet-developed mind could comprehend it completely. Let me tell you, my friends were playing some intense and complex games but young me was having none of it. I needed games to be stripped back and simple and this was it!
And lastly, this really aided my obsession with Disney Channel, an entertainment platform which I credit most of my personality to. As someone who didn’t grow up with Foxtel, I was really just limited to Saturday mornings to get my dose of Disney Channel, until I discovered the website.
Here, I lived out my Hannah Montana popstar fantasy, my Kim Possible superhero fantasy, and my Suite Life Of Zack & Cody chaos fantasy.
If you want an intense dose of nostalgia, I highly recommend playing this game. It’s an easy five minutes of your time to bring back your Year 5 experience.
While we’re on the topic of The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody, remember the time they crossed over with Hannah Montana and That’s So Raven? Now, that’s a throwback!
