Matt Zukowski Almost Blew His Proposal To Tammy Hembrow… Twice
Love Island’s Matt Zukowski and Tammy Hembrow have been under fire for the quick pace their relationship is going at, but they don’t care what anyone thinks.
The pair dated for about three months before committing to ~forever~ on a gorge Maldives beach. Matt pulled out all the stops by organising a private dinner on the beach and hired a professional drone operator to film the entire thing.

The reality TV star chatted candidly about the proposal on his Where’s Your Head At? podcast, saying he wasn’t impressed with people’s two cents.
“For anyone saying anything about the timeline, I don’t know why you’d even comment,” he said. “We’re two people who are happily in love and we want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
“First of all, we don’t give a fuck. Secondly, we’re going to show you how happy we are together.”
The proposal itself wasn’t nerve-wracking for Matt, as the lovebirds had previously talked about getting hitched. “I knew Tammy was going to say ‘yes’,” he said.

The podcaster only decided that he was going to pop the question in the Maldives one week before they left. A last-minute trip to the jeweller and seven days of planning to pull off a massive surprise? I’m getting hives from stress just thinking about it.
He bought a ring from Unique Diamonds, after asking Tammy’s besties for a style that she’d like, picking out an elegant oval diamond. But while she clearly loves this style… the ring looks extremely similar to the last engagement ring she received from ex- fiancé Matt Poole. Same first name, same ring, I guess?

Matt found it tricky to keep the ring hidden while they were on the way to paradise. The first time Tammy almost came across the ring was after her one-year-old daughter Posy went through Matt’s luggage. Matt found Tammy repacking his bag, and by a stroke of luck, she hadn’t noticed the ring box.
On their way to the Maldives, the security scanners made Matt very nervous. “We went through the security scanners… and they had one in every gate. We’re standing there and you could see this box with a big fuck-off ring just sitting there,” he said. Luckily, the influencer missed the entire debacle.
Matt organised for a drone operator to film the proposal, but he had one other sneaky trick up his sleeve. While he was having dinner with Tammy, he went over and told the ‘tourist’ to leave, so that his soon-to-be fiancée wouldn’t be tipped off.
