Rumour Has It These Two Famous Fellas Were Offered ‘The Bachelor’ Gig Before Locky
This season of The Bachelor keeps getting messier. Over the weekend the So Dramatic! podcast spilled some (more) piping hot tea, claiming that picking Locky Gilbert to front the reality dating show was the show’s plan C.
So who was plan A and plan B? “Our original plan A was none other than Jett Kenny,” So Dramatic! host Megan Pustetto claimed. For those unfamiliar with Jett, he is a model and ironman who is the son of swimming champion Lisa Curry.
Pustetto said that Kenny was offered a “two-part deal” to appear on Dancing With The Stars and then The Bachelor, but the plan fell apart after he began dating his DWTS dance partner, Lily Cornish, and was therefore no longer interested in the gig. Although they reportedly split in 2019, so that’s fishy to me.
As Kenny wasn’t available, the host has alleged that AFL footballer Alex Rance was plan B and it appeared to be a done deal. “He actually signed on the dotted line and the girls for this season were actually cast for him and they had even been told that Alex was going to be their Bachelor,” she said.
Megan also alleged that a source told her that Rance had even already been fitted for his suit.
It’s unclear why the Richmond player pulled out at the last minute, but Pustetto said that the contestants were disappointed with who stood in his place. “So when the girls arrived at the mansion and it was Locky, there was a lot of confusion. They were saying ‘this doesn’t make any sense, how did I match with Locky, he’s not my type at all,’ and apparently it was well known in the mansion that he wasn’t the producers’ first pick.”
Ooft. This is some juicy stuff. We have contacted Channel 10 for comment regarding Pustetto’s claims and a spokesperson stated the rumour regarding Rance was untrue and The Herald Sun reports that this has been further substantiated by the footballer’s management.
