Ryan Gallagher From ‘MAFS’ Was Supposed To Be This Year’s Bachelor
The Challenge and Married at First Sight alum, Ryan Gallagher, was supposed to be a Bachelor on this year’s season, but luckily he wasn’t.
In a series of Instagram Stories, the reality TV groom-turned-challenger revealed a bunch of receipts that proved he was signed on for the 2023 season of The Bachelors.
In his first Instagram Story, Gallagher shared a picture of the casting contract. He wrote, “Not being on The Bachelor this year turned out to be the best thing to have ever done. I wouldn’t have done The Challenge nor met [current partner] Emily [Seebohm].”
Ryan clarified that he didn’t pull out, but he was “cut” three weeks before filming.
He then followed up the first post by taking a swipe at this year’s Bachelors: Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucelli. “I wouldn’t have been a very good Bachelor this year anyways, I didn’t meet the criteria as I know how to change a car tyre, start a lawn mower and don’t have FaceTune.”
And you know what? Good for him.
As mentioned earlier, if he had said yes to joining the clusterf*ck that was The Bachelors, he wouldn’t of met his now-girlfriend and Aussie Olympian, Emily Seebohm.
To give you the TL;DR, Emily and Ryan met on The Challenge last year. After weeks of dating rumours, the pair hard-launched their relationship on Instagram in December, with Emily posting a series of pictures with the caption, “letting you in on a little secret.”

Ryan and Emily honestly make a top notch couple! The pair constantly share photos of each other and it’s so sweet. Ryan even shared a photo of them when they were on The Challenge, hitting us with all the romantic feels.

Unlike Ryan, most this year’s Bachys did not find love on reality TV. Even though there were proposals thrown around in the grand finale, two of the winning couples confirmed their breakups the day after it aired.
So, I guess Ryan dodged a bullet and grabbed a Seebohm instead.
