In news that’s unsurprising but still upsetting all the same, on tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette Elly chose Frazer and Joe as her top two suitors, sending season fave, Adam, home.

While Frazer has been Elly’s obvious pick from day one, and with Elly already knowing Joe from before the show, it was still Adam who fans had been rooting for. The handsome geologist won over viewers when he got his first date with Elly, and she painted his bare chest before showing him her rock collection. And no, that’s not a euphemism.

Adam got all the way to hometowns, but tonight was the end of the road for him. After he introduced Elly to his family over Zoom, when Adam had the chance to say how he felt about Elly, he struggled to express himself. Then at the rose ceremony, as Adam was left without a rose, Elly walked him out, with an emotional farewell. “You have been who you are from the very start and that’s why you stood out so much for me. Whoever ends up with you, bloody hell, they’re going to be such a lucky person,” a tearful Elly said to Adam. “I mean that from the bottom of my heart.”

Elly was crying. Fans were crying. I am still crying.

The Bachelorette viewers are devastated for Adam:

If Adam isn’t the 2021 Bachelor, we riot.
