The Bachelorette is already proving to be a super promising season and there are some standout contestants so far vying for Brooke Blurton’s heart.

Darvid Garayeli is a 27-year-old landscaper from Queensland and the recipient of the White Rose on the premiere episode of The Bachelorette, guaranteeing him the first date with Brooke.

The two went for a romantic helicopter ride over the Blue Mountains before having a hanging picnic – quite literally, dangling off a clifftop while delivered hot chocolate from a suited up abseiler.

Darvid currently is holding the odds as the winner of this season on betting sites and the So Dramatic! podcast has also revealed a potential spoiler that Darvid may have won Brooke’s heart, which you can read all about here

So what else do we know about Darvid Garayeli, aka The Persian Prince, from The Bachelorette?

Darvid is a self-employed landscaper from Queensland and describes himself as “a little blunt” which can sometimes get him into some trouble, while his family describe him as a “bull in a china shop.”

The Bachelorette frontrunner believes he’s a glass-half-full type of guy and is now in a place where he’s ready to open up to the idea of finding “the one.”

Darvid says he’s been in a love a few times before, with each relationship being a slightly different experience. “I feel like they have all contributed to who I am now,” he said. He says his standards are high and he won’t settle down until he finds the right person.

Darvid’s dream date includes a nice bottle of wine, Italian food, and “a whole lot of laughs”.

His Persian background is also important to him – he and Brooke bonded over their appreciation for their respective cultures during the first episode where he served her tea. “I thought in amongst the madness, we can sit down and have a cup of tea,” he told Brooke. “It’s quite important to me to embrace my heritage. It’s something I haven’t always embraced in younger years, as I get a bit older it means more to me.”

“Culture to me is everything,” Brooke said after meeting Darvid. “Seeing Darvid so passionate about his culture is beautiful.”

Darvid then presented Brooke with a genie lamp, and three wishes. “I know you’ve already used the first one on me appearing,” he joked. “Of course, I’m hoping a couple of wishes are me at the end,” he later said in his voxxie. “Or maybe a first single date, we’ll start with that. I won’t sell myself to the end just yet, but we’re on the right track.”

It looks like as of the first week the two are definitely on the right track, so we can’t wait to keep watching Darvid and Brooke’s journey.

The Bachelorette airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
