Phew! We’ve survived a huge double episode of The Bachelorette tonight and I’m feeling so many mixed emotions it’s hard to even know where to BEGIN.

A lot happened in tonight’s bumper two-hour-long special of The Bachelorette. We went from the final dates, to the final six, to hometowns, to bidding farewell to a fan favourite. If you’re still reeling from all the chaos, I don’t blame you.

There was art, there was grape squishing, there was wine drinking, and there were tears, and that’s just what I call my standard Bachelorette work shift.

OK, let’s rewind back a little: the remaining six contestants did their final group date with Brooke, which was an art challenge based around drawing/creating what they see in Brooke. Everyone tried their best, Kurt got confused by colours, but it was Konrad who came through with the goods with his painting that demonstrated how much he had listened to Brooke during their time together. Winning precious solo time, our boy stumbled over his answers about where he saw their future: Brooke needed some stability, and Konrad, having just quit his job, wasn’t too focused on what was next.

Darvid and Brooke’s final date involved way too many feet shots (keep your kinks to yourselves!), before things got serious as Brooke opened up to Darvid about what she’s looking for in a partner, which ended with Darvid leaving the date wanting to be the consistent final choice in Brooke’s life.

At the cocktail party, we said goodbye to Kurt and Millie and… nope, the show wasn’t over! We rolled STRAIGHT into hometowns.

Hometowns was a rollercoaster. We fell in love with Konrad’s family, questioned why Jamie-Lee’s friends didn’t understand the premise of a show she’s already been on previously, snoozed through Darvid’s hometown, and finally sat on the edge of our seats as things started to fall apart for Holly and Brooke when they realised they want different things.

It was dramatic, and upsetting, and if that wasn’t enough, Konrad was then booted out. BRB, going to ugly cry to ‘Forget Me Too’ by Machine Gun Kelly and Photoshop myself into Konrad’s family portraits.

Let’s recap the double whammy episode of The Bachelorette via the best tweets.

The final group date involved the remaining six contestants creating art expressing how they see Brooke. They then had to watch each other explain their art to Brooke which wouldn’t be weird or intimidating or anything!

Konrad made Brooke (and us) cry with his sweet explanation about his artwork, winning him the extra solo time. Things got awkward, however, when he was too wishy-washy about their potential future together.

Brooke opened up to Darvid in their single date, telling him she was worried about not being enough for someone. Darvid told Brooke he’s all in for their relationship.

At the cocktail party, Konrad’s explanation of his future life plan still seemed too airy-fairy for Brooke.

We then said goodbye to Kurt and Millie.

Enter, hometowns! Konrad was up first, and his eccentric and emotional dad stole the show.

Jamie-Lee was next and her friends wasted no time in hitting Brooke with the hard questions about whether she saw a future with Jamie-Lee.

Darvid’s mum quizzed Brooke about whether she’d move to Brisbane for Darvid (and live in the same street as the whole family). Brooke wasn’t against it.

Holly’s hometown descended into chaos when Brooke learned Holly might not want children and when Holly learned Brooke’s eventual life-plan was to end up back in WA.

Machine Gun Konrad took his final bow. We’ll miss you, sweet prince.

See you guys next week for more torture of our hearts.
