‘The Challenge’ Premiere Recapped In Hilarious Tweets

Arriving just in time to fill The Bachelor-sized hole that 2022 has left, The Challenge kicked off last night — and it looks like a lot of fun!

The new Channel 10 reality show is a local adaption of the US version which has run for a mammoth 38 seasons. The show sends a bunch of reality stars to another country to compete in various games and tasks, with this season taking place in Argentina.

The cast is stacked with familiar faces from reality shows like Married at First Sight, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Love Island, MasterChef, Big Brother, I’m A Celebrity, and Australian Survivor.

The premiere introduced the competitors to each other who quickly had to couple up, as they will be competing in pairs throughout the show. But the good stuff was saved for outside the gameplay, as immediately MAFS icon Cyrell Paule kicked off about bagging her desired bed. In some real ‘Cyclone Cyrell’ energy, she yelled at Love Island’s Audrey Kanongora for apparently not following the proper bed-snatching protocol.

This was a big episode for Audrey (someone I have never laid eyes on in my life), as she then got caught up in the season’s first cheating scandal. Yep, Ciarran Stott is back doing what he does best: cheating on his girlfriends. He and Audrey ended up in the shower together after a night out, which was made all the more awkward as Audrey has a partner and Ciarran is dating Ruby Burciaga. Oop!

But I digress, let’s recap the entire episode via the funniest tweets because I just want to, OK!

The Challenge premiere recapped in hilarious tweets:

The contestants were introduced to each other, and host Brihony, before they headed off to where they’ll be living. Within minutes, Cyrell had already kicked off because she reckoned Audrey stole her bed. Some things never change and that’s beautiful.

After all the contestants paired-up for the first challenge, Brooke J decided to try to sabotage another team. She’s bringing some real chaotic Survivor energy to the show and we simply have to stan.

Also Johnny from Survivor, is that you???

This ‘running around a big-as-shit arena’ task looks super gruelling, and please spare a thought for the people from dating shows who aren’t from Survivor, or actual Olympians.

Cyrell and Jack ended up being the bottom couple, which meant they’ll be heading into an elimination. They’ll be going up against a pair chosen by the winning pair, Ryan and Emily. After the running challenge, the crew hit the clubs in Argentina. This is a new kind of reality show, keep up!

After a night of partying, Ciarran and Aubrey ended up hooking up in the shower and in turn, cheating on both their partners.

Cyrell and Jack went up against Suzan and Billy but managed to reign supreme, despite Cyrell sounding like she was close to death throughout the episode. What can’t she do!

For a show that ran for less than an hour, it packed a punch.

The Challenge returns tonight at 7:30m on Channel 10 and 10Play.
