Another day, another The Masked Singer celebrity who is so damn obvious, we have to laugh.

If you’ve been watching the Channel 10 reality singing competition, then it’s likely that you’ve watched Blowfly and thought to yourself: where have I heard that voice before? Could it be on another Channel 10 reality singing competition?

Yep, it’s bloody Shannon Noll.

Just listen to this voice and imagine Osher Günsberg is about to break his heart at the 2003 Australian Idol finale…

This is Shannon Noll. This is him singing. Shannon Noll is singing this song.

And Twitter agrees, with most people tweeting that Blowfly’s identity is a little too obvious.

No mask’s identity has been so easy since Kate Miller-Heidke was Queen. I’ve been guessing celebs on this show for years, and if you want my most recent credentials: Popcorn was just unmasked as Sam Sparro, who I guessed last week.

Blowfly is Shannon Noll. Don’t believe me? Let the clues show you the way!

Here’s every clue that proves Blowfly on The Masked Singer is Shannon Noll:

Week One

Clue: Blowfly was delivering a pizza to a doctor, but when they opened the box some type of crayfish was inside.

Clue: Blowfly stood outside a pizzeria advertising German sausage pizza as the special of the day.

Explanation: The surname Noll is of German origin. Continuing with that theme, Shannon once headlined an Oktoberfest party in St Kilda, Melbourne.

Clue: “There’s nothing I like more than cruising in a big V8, or maybe a high-five.”

Explanation: Shannon is known for his love of cars: he had a song called ‘Drive’ and hosted a TV show about cars called Cruise Mode.

Clue: “Those days of innocence are behind me and now I am the possessor of much wisdom.”

Explanation: Days of Innocence was an album by Moving Pictures which featured ‘What About Me?’, the first song Shannon released. He also has a song titled ‘Wise’.

Clue: Three babies appeared in Blowfly’s arms.

Explanation: Shannon is the youngest of three children.

Clue: Blowfly was seen playing a video game, with a framed image of what looked like an orange behind him.

Explanation: Shannon grew up living in Orange, New South Wales.

Clue: Blowfly appeared performing opera in front of a lighthouse and holding up the scales of justice.

Explanation: A nod to Sydney Opera House, where he placed runner-up in the Australian Idol finale in 2003. The scales of justice could be representing whether he deserved to win over Guy Sebastian, a debate that’s been raging ever since.

Clue: Blowfly tried to break a stick over his knee, then handed it to a bodyguard who also struggled to break it.

Explanation: The Australian Idol alum’s fifth studio album is called Unbroken.

Clue: Blowfly pointed to a sign that read, “the boy with the dragon tattoo”.

Explanation: Shannon has a dragon tattoo on his right bicep, as you can see in this pic.

Clue: “I fought real hard to get to the top of my little hill, or am I king of the mountain?

Explanation: Noll was once asked to star in a movie called King of the Mountain, a biopic on Australian motorsports icon Peter Brock, but he declined the offer.

Clue: “I know I can be loud, maybe a bit wild and it almost cost me family some important jewellery.”

Explanation: Shannon has a song titled ‘Loud’, and as far as getting “wild”, the singer was arrested in 2017 and charged with assault for an altercation at Adelaide strip join, Crazy Horse. The charges were eventually dropped by SA police. He later said he was in ‘the doghouse’ with his wife Rochelle following the incident, which could be a nod to the event costing him “important jewellery” aka his wedding band.

Clue: “I’ve spent my time in the sun, including some of my darkest days, but I am a phoenix.”

Explanation: Shannon has an album titled A Million Suns and a song called ‘Shine’. Shannon has experienced significant loss in his life. His father Neil was killed during a farming accident in 2001, before the family’s farm had to contend with two years of extreme drought. Noll also has a tattoo of a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Week Two

Clue: A bodyguard was dressed up like a cricketer.

Explanation: Shannon recorded his own rendition of Australian cricket anthem ‘C’mon Aussie, C’mon’.

Clue: Blowfly stood next to a sign that advertised a “Red Dog Pizza – all raw!”, we also saw a red dog barking and jumping for a ball.

Explanation: Shannon is signed to record label, Red Dog Recordings, which in 2021 released his sixth studio album Raw.

Clue: Blowfly held out a copy of a book titled “Dancing for Beginners” and pointed to a wall behind him that had five round plates (that looked like records) hanging on it.

Explanation: Shannon competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2012, but had to withdraw in the fourth week due to injury. His first album That’s What I’m Talking About went five times platinum.

Clue: “They say home is where the heart is and maybe the hope, I just know that love will be rewarded fourfold.”

Explanation: The singer collaborated with Natalie Bassingthwaighte on ‘Don’t Give Up’ cover, which featured on album Home: Songs of Hope & Journey to raise funds for Beyond Blue. Shannon’s first album spent four weeks at number one.

Week Three

Clue: A bodyguard plays with a toy helicopter next to a bright blue pepperoni pizza.

Explanation: Nollsie is no stranger to helicopter rides. As far as blue goes, the singer featured on the John Williamson cover album Absolute Greatest40 Years True Blue.

Clue: Blowfly was seen walking down a road with a suitcase that said “Mars or Bust”, while a moving van called “Trustworthy Man Removals” drove by.

Explanation: The space references is in regard to Shannon hitting the road in 2009 to tour with and star in the stage version of War of the Worlds. The singer has a song called ‘Man I Can Trust’.

Clue: “I’ve got the drive, but I’ve been scarred by my celebrity, but that doesn’t scare me, just don’t call me spineless.”

Explanation: Shannon obviously has a banger song called ‘Drive’. The mention of “celebrity” could be a nod to his 2018 stint on I’m A Celebrity where he, once again, came runner-up — which could bring up scars from his Australian Idol days. The “spineless” comment is referencing how the singer underwent spinal surgery in 2019 to help with his chronic back pain.

Clue: “You know I’m as woke as the next Blowfly but I just don’t like Martians, they come here in their spaceships and cause heaps of trouble so we’re going to march this weekend at the Stop the Martians march. I hear Tom Cruise might be there!”

Explanation: The reference to battling martians is another nod to War of the Worlds. And as mentioned earlier, in 2016 Shannon hosted a TV series titled Cruise Mode.

Seriously, if I’m wrong on this one I will be beyond shook.
