The Masked Singer competition is heating up! Next week we head into the semi-finals, after this week’s episodes saw the unmasking of Sophie Monk (Dragonfly) and Isaiah Firebrace (Wizard).

I can’t say I was overly surprised, as both those celebs had been popular guesses since series two started. Fans of this show are just waaaaay too good at picking who is behind the mask and this week it looks like people have well and truly figured it all out.

Seriously, I would bet my firstborn on Kate Miller-Heidke being Queen and Eddie Perfect being Frillneck. Let’s go through this week’s most popular theories based on the latest clues!

Frillneck

Clues: “What you don’t know about me would fill a book. Maybe I’ll write that book. I love to tell an Australian story, or maybe not. What I do is very diverse. Some of it would scare your socks off. It’s hair-raising. But I don’t want you to think of me as some kind of monster, I just believe that when you’re in the middle you need to go big or go home.

“Most of my life I’ve worked with others, but sometimes you have to go out on your own before the horned lady sings. Well, there’s no horns tonight, just frills and it’s my turn to sing.”

Extra clue from home: A kalimba.

Guesses: Eddie Perfect is still 90% of Twitter’s guesses for Frillneck.

Puppet

Clues: “I have a deep love for what I do, the best bit is interacting with the public. I get even more out of it than they do. Of course, I do it all on my terms. I don’t follow anyone. I have many strings to my bow, but I find that four are usually enough.

“I like the tropical heat. In fact, the sun has no visible effect on me at all. No sunburn for me. I’ve been many things in my life, morphing from one thing to another – some quite ugly. I hope the other Masked Singers never wake up, that the Puppet is stalking them.”

Extra clue from home: Lederhosen.

Guesses: Simon Pryce (The Wiggles) has emerged as the clear favourite and Mark Holden is still a popular guess.

Queen

Clues: “One wasn’t always a Queen. But it is a real title, awarded by the good folk of this country who have supported me repeatedly. Achieving that is not a fly by night operation or even 12 nights. As befitting a Queen my first professional performance was for Britain, I took the applause not knowing if I could make it last but it just didn’t feel like home. I knew I needed to look elsewhere for fulfillment.

“Do people find me funny? In other words, do I have nil seriousness? I will not have it. I am the Queen. I’m not just one of the crowd and I intend to stand out tonight.”

Extra clue from home: Diary written in French.

Guesses: Kate Miller-Heidke is by far the celebrity everyone is guessing and the clues add up.

Bushranger

Clues: “Last time on this stage I came out firing and I stole a heart. Although I’m all wrapped up in metal, Christmas is my favourite time of the year. And those magical Christmas songs. It’s the present that gave me my future. You have to follow your dreams, but do it in your own way. It helps if you have a good role model to follow around.

“It’s hard work getting people all over the country to hand over their money. But working hard gives me a buzz. Now I know that whoever we pretend to be, we can only be ourselves and forget the criticism. As Madonna said – “express yourself”. So that’s what I’m going to do.”

Extra clue from home: A rocking horse.

Guesses: Bonnie Anderson or Jess Mauboy.

Cactus

Clues: “I’ve been cooking up plans for my life since I was very young. It’s been tough, I won’t lie. Not everyone has enjoyed what I’ve served up in the past. To tell you the truth, I never liked dishing it out. I just come back and try harder.

“I do my best work at night. Even things usually done at other times of the day. It helps in this business if you have a medical degree. In fact, I could have used some medical assistance myself at times. Thank goodness it didn’t come to that. I’m in the pink now. Most Cactuses are good on their own, not me. I’m at my best with others around me. But tonight, I’m going solo and not for the first time, it could get ugly.”

Extra clue from home: Platform shoes.

Guesses: Lucy Durak or Ella Hooper.

Kitten

Clues: “What breed of cat am I? There’s a bit of everything, I guess. But even this tiny Kitten has taken out some high flyers in the past. This Kitten has claws. But I’m no keyboard warrior. In fact, I’m quite genteel online. If it wasn’t for this costume, I would feel totally exposed and it wouldn’t be for the first time. Let’s just say I’m not afraid to get it out there.

“I have a vision and I’m always looking for opportunities. You just never know where you’ll find them. Is the spotlight on me? Good. Because this Kitty is ready to roar.”

Extra clue from home: A Cocktail.

Guesses: Julia Morris or well…it’s got to be Julia Morris.

The Masked Singer semi-finals begin Monday at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
