The Most Genius ‘Masked Singer’ Theories From Viewers This Week

We’re back for another week of watching celebs get stuffed into cursed-looking costumes on The Masked Singer to perform a truly random setlist of songs. Like seriously, this week we had Bon Jovi, Goyte and Icona Pop. Every episode is like an especially loose karaoke night. What a shitshow.

As a new bunch of clues were revealed, the celebs people were predicting on Twitter have changed in some cases, or been solidified in others. Eddie Perfect as Frillneck and Kate Miller-Heidke being Queen remain the dominant guesses. On the flipside, Julia Morris has absolutely surged in popularity this week as the obvious person beneath Kitten’s mask, whereas last week I would have sworn it was Tanya Hennessy.

This show is a real rollercoaster and I never want to get off. Here’s the most convincing theories from The Masked Singer this week!

Dragonfly

Second clue: “This Dragonfly loves the country, but the blues are never far away. Am I an Aussie hillbilly? I’m always trying to pluck the right note. Dragonflies are on almost every continent and I spend my time in the toughest jungle.

“Escaping from the horror was a relief. I don’t put up barricades and I don’t like to be judgemental, but sometimes I can’t help it. Sometimes I still feel like the ugly duckling with almost 100 reasons for winning The Masked Singer.”

Guesses: Sophie Monk, Jo Beth Taylor, or Kasey Chambers.

Puppet

Second clue: “There has been magic in what I do, though granting wishes isn’t my usual job, I could do it until the cows come home. Am I the sort who flies by the seat of his pants? Well I have walked to the beat of a different drum. Am I wise? I have been in the past.

“When I took my inspiration from the old testament. But don’t judge me for that. I have been the bridesmaid many times and I finally get to be the bride, taking many hands in marriage. I couldn’t be a happier puppet except when I finally win The Masked Singer.”

Guesses: Simon Pryce (The Wiggles) or Mark Holden.

Frillneck

Second clue: “I gave 100% last time and I got everyone up. And you’re all going to learn that you ain’t seen nothing yet. In life, you never know what the right move is, so I like to task risks. They don’t always pay off but no pain, no gain. And remember, your critics aren’t always right, that’s why sometimes you have to ignore the rules.

“It’s easy to be judged in our society, but we also love a larrikin even when they get caught in stockings. And I don’t care what Miley Cyrus says. I’m not always recognised, and people don’t believe who I say I am. That’s okay because I don’t always enjoy being in the sun. But now, I’m back in the spotlight and I’m here to stay.”

Guess: Eddie Perfect or well, Eddie Perfect — he’s by far the dominant pick on Twitter.

Queen

Second clue: “A Queen can be many things. Even when I was very very naughty, I was applauded by my greatest critics. Nobody puts baby in the corner. I’m comfortable in public, crowds don’t bother me. Although I do like to travel by coach. Yes, there have been many stages in my life.

“Sometimes I am the Queen and sometimes the jester. But my sporting heritage cannot be denied. This is not my first time at being piggy in the middle. But I didn’t let that experience stand in my way. Every Queen reaches for the stars, standing on the shoulders of our loyal subjects. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but tonight will be my checkmate.”

Guesses: Kate Miller-Heidke or Olympia Valance.

Cactus

Second clue: “I came on The Masked Singer to impress and then Sherlock Minogue got on the case. They aren’t anywhere near the truth. Am I prickly? I really don’t think so. But I am my own worst critic. It’s amazing what a Cactus can achieve in life. I’ve met royalty. In fact, where I come from my family almost is royalty. We’ve had many titles through history, but I trod my own path coming from the North – just like Santa who I love. No one can hold a candle to him.

“Climbing the ladder of success in my game is hard. I’m always afraid I’m going to fall and there’s always someone else who wants my role in the team. You just have to hold onto your dream as hard as you can. My dream right now is to win The Masked Singer.”

Guesses: Lucy Durack or Rebel Wilson.

Wizard

Second clue: “When I sang last time, I had a magical effect on Dave. Tonight, the magic continues, and everybody will be under my spell. My magic was felt from a young age. It’s in my DNA but it wasn’t recognised by everyone. Sometimes, I forgot myself. But the power is mine.

“My greatest success is not in the land of my birth. I have always travelled for my growth. I have sacrificed much in my search for wisdom, nothing of value comes easy. I feel the magic in others and take their guidance, but eventually, you must go your own way. You must learn to soar. Will I soar again tonight? You be the judge.”

Guesses: Isaiah Firebrace or Murray Cook (The Wiggles).

Bushranger

Second clue: “For my very first performance, the Bushranger was going to steal the show. So put your money on Bushranger to win this whole dang thing, yee-haw. Like a true Bushranger, I’ve got the country in my heart. I’m very comfortable with horse power, like other women before me. But I’m never comfortable being just the one thing.

“It’s important to always be growing. Roses are my favourite. I was for a while part of the Kelly gang, now I’m on my own. But you’re never on your own when you have family and over the years I’ve discovered that ink stains. But right now, nothing’s getting under my skin. I’ve got my armour on and it’s time to take the competition head-on.”

Guesses: Bonnie Anderson or Jess Mauboy.

Kitten

Second clue: “When I walked out to sing, I was pumped, but I never thought I’d start a war. Come on guys, there’s enough Kitty to go around. I’m a Kitten covered in candy. I’m sweet like an angel, until I’m not. My early career was unforgettable. I guess that’s why I was on the meds. I felt cold for a long time, even when I was supposed to feel fabulous. Breaks always came when I least expected it, but I really hit the jackpot in Vegas.

“I don’t always know where I’m going but I like to get there fast. Always on the go, I’m yet to crash and burn. Yet! I’ve never had any problem being heard before. My voice has gone out all over Australia but for the first time, you will hear it without reacting to what’s been said. Will I be top cat of this litter? I think so.”

Guesses: Julia Morris or Pia Miranda.

The Masked Singer returns Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
