Everything We Know About ‘The Real Housewives Of Sydney’ Reboot
For the past couple years, Australians have been denied the pleasure of being able to watch their own countrywomen flaunt their outrageous wealth while strutting around multi-million dollar penthouses.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne was canceled after five seasons in 2021, and we’ve been left to watch influencer wannabes pretend to find love on MAFS.
Fortunately, the kind team over at Binge has decided to fill the boujie void and revive the Sydney version!
Regarding the exciting news, Binge Executive Director, Alison Hurbert-Burns, said “We are thrilled to be bringing The Real Housewives Of Sydney series to Binger viewers. The Real Housewives franchise is wildly popular across the globe, and we felt a cosmopolitan city like Sydney needed again to have a brand-new local version.”
To celebrate the welcome addition to our TV schedules, we’ve rounded up everything we know about the upcoming The Real Housewives of Sydney reboot.
Is the cast the same as the original RHOS cast?
Reality TV aficionados will know that The Real Housewives of Sydney is a reboot of its predecessor of the same name. Back in 2017, RHOS debuted following the success of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. However, the Sydney iteration only lasted a single season before it was dumped.
The new season/series is loosely connected to the original, as both are produced by Matchbook Pictures, but the new addition will stream exclusively on Binge. And viewers can expect completely new faces in the cast.
“We can’t wait to introduce Australians to the new group of Sydney housewives, in this reimagined series,” Hurbert-Burns said.
Alastair McKinnon, Matchbox Pictures Managing Director, added, “The Real Housewives franchise is a global phenomenon, and it is high time that Australia’s most spectacular and iconic city steps back into the spotlight. We have assembled a sensational cast of amazing women who are going to perfectly showcase Sydney’s beauty, glamour and intrigue for audiences in Australia and around the world. We are so excited to be working with Binge which is the perfect home for this reinvigorated new chapter.”
While the cast hasn’t officially been confirmed, Daily Telegraph has reported that media personality Sally Obermeder is among the line-up of housewives.
When will it premiere?
There’s no official air date yet but Binge has revealed that the show is currently in production. Stay tuned!
Where can I watch it?
The Real Housewives of Sydney will be available exclusively on Binge, which means no messing around with VPNs to access international streaming subscriptions. Yippee!
