TikToks About The Dating App Cycle That Are Painfully Accurate
When it comes to the people who use dating apps, they generally fall into two categories: those who have a date with the first person they match with, it goes perfectly, they start a relationship and delete all their apps, or the people who have been stuck in the dating app cycle for years.
I’ve been in both columns. When I first joined Tinder, I met someone straight away and dated them for a while, but after we split, I eventually came crawling back to the apps and I’ve been stuck in online dating limbo ever since.
The cycle of swiping, matching, messaging, then losing interest is never-ending. And it feels like the longer you’re on dating apps, the more cynical you become that you’ll ever find a genuine connection. This in turn, leads to you not getting that invested in any of your matches, which means you don’t actually make the connection you’re on the apps for — delaying any chance that you’ll be able to get off the apps.
Rinse and repeat.
It’s a pattern that’s difficult to break but it has been made even worse by some of the dating app bios that women have to swipe through. Like seriously, men are baffling creatures. If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry and these dating app TikToks are a huge mood.
