We’ve been cursed gifted with yet another early ’00s reboot, but tbh, it looks like a bit of a trainwreck. The trailer for the Zoey 101 sequel, Zoey 102, has dropped and the film is full of chaotic energy. 

Jamie Lynn Spears, who returned to acting in 2019, is centre stage as 30-year-old Zoey Brooks in the trailer. The reunion takes place at a wedding, which everyone conveniently happens to be attending.

Zoey seemingly hasn’t gotten over how great life was when she was at high school, because she was popular and seemingly deeply in love (at 15??) with Chase Matthews. And in the twist we all saw coming, she’s still not over her teenage puppy love. But surprise, surprise, he’s taken and seems pretty content with his new squeeze. 

Rather than dealing with her feelings in an adult way, she takes a leaf out of a YA novel, and hires an Aussie man called Hugo Hemsworth to be her wedding date. The Hemsworth joke was pretty cringe, but at least he’s hot.

Oh, and apparently Tek-Mate phones are also a thing of the past in the Zoey universe? IDK what these weird see-through glass things are, but it’s not a vibe.
