Darvid Admits He Regrets Selling His Business Before Moving In With Brooke
Darvid Garayeli has taken to his Instagram to share a life update following his shock split with Brooke Blurton, who he met on last year’s The Bachelorette.
Brooke and Darvid appeared to have a fairytale romance: they formed an instant connection, Darvid was picked for the first date before being given the final rose, and after the finale, Darvid uprooted his life in Brisbane to move to Melbourne to be with Brooke. Darvid even sold his home and landscaping business before relocating to Melbourne. But by the time 2022 rolled around, Darvid dropped a bombshell on Instagram, revealing the couple had decided to go their separate ways.
Brooke described Darvid’s announcement as a “surprise” to her, but confirmed the news was correct. In the weeks since the breakup, rumours have been circulating over what went wrong. Brooke posted a statement to her social media telling her followers that she had been the one to end the relationship, as she had “been unhappy for a bit and it wasn’t just solely because of the relationship.” Brooke listed the death of her sister and the pressures that come from being a Bachy couple as some of the reasons she ultimately called it quits.
Darvid has laid relatively low since the split but overnight he took to his Instagram to address some fan questions. When a follower asked him how he was, he wrote “If you asked me a few weeks ago I would’ve had a different answer. But I’m okay. I have a lot of things to be thankful for.”
Darvid went on to answer a question a lot of Bachelorette fans have been wondering: why did he sell his house and business? One fan asked if Brooke had made him sell in order to be with her in Melbourne. “I definitely didn’t have to, nor was I forced to in any way,” Darvid clarified. “It was my choice. Would I still have sold my house? Yes. My business? Probably not.”
As far as what’s next for Darvid, he hasn’t ruled out moving to another city. “I’m excited for what’s next,” he wrote. “Going to take some time to figure out what that is.. I’ve lived in Brissie my entire adult life and always worked and/or studied. I appreciate that it’s rare to have a ‘clean slate’. Both daunting and exciting.”
We’re wishing both Darvid and Brooke all the best in their future plans.
