If you’re feeling a little nostalgic in our current lockdown life you’re not the only one.

The Sims sales are probably through the roof. If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing is all the rage. If, like me, you don’t have a Switch then you’re probably wildly confused by everyone talking about Animal Crossing. And when people aren’t playing games, they’re talking about Tiger King or baking so much bread that flour is impossible to find anywhere.

I’ve started thinking a lot about the games I used to play as a kid to fill in time on school holidays while ignoring my parents who were telling me to “go outside and enjoy the fresh air.” Ugh, how right they were. If only we knew.

I found a Wii at home which has been great for my Mario Kart skills. Sadly, my PlayStation 1 and Harry Potter game are now non-existent. And as I sat there, staring at a wall, I remembered a game I used to play mindlessly and constantly many years ago.

MOTHERF*CKING BUBBLE TROUBLE!

Apparently it’s now ‘Bubble Struggle’ but I truly only remember it ever being called Bubble Trouble. But whatever. I’m not here to look into the legalities of it all, I am just here to pass time.

The premise of the game is simple, and it gets weirdly fun and competitive and before you know it, you’ve been playing this little devil man shooting bubbles for hours.

There are all sorts of levels you can build up to, which also may increase your stress levels as you go, but it’s nice to feel something other than pure boredom for once.

Plus the game is free online, and you don’t need to download it or need anything special. Just a working space bar and arrow keys.

This has been an isolation gift reminder from me to you. Go forth and pop some bubbles, fam.
