Move over The Bachelor: Farmer Wants A Wife may have wrapped up a couple of weeks ago but the drama has us clutching our pearls and gulping our tea as we eagerly await the reunion episode due to air after the Olympics.

From rumours of Farmer Sam not owning his farm and Andrew and Jess coming out to say they tried to leave the show halfway through, Farmer Wants A Wife has brought its fair share of dramas this season. But none more so than the latest pregnancy scandal that has left fans shellshocked.

Aussie reality TV is pretty PG at the best of times – our Bachelors don’t have private overnight stays, our MAFS couples can be chaotic with their “cheating” sagas, and, sure, Blake Garvey and Honey Badger had us outraged for various reasons, but it’s all fairly tame at the end of the day.

So a pregnancy scandal on Australia’s more wholesome dating show, Farmer Wants A Wife, was not exactly where we saw things heading on our 2021 reality Bingo cards.

Who are the people involved?

For the purpose of this FWAW scandal, we will be talking about Farmer Will, Farmer Matt, Hayley, and Jaimee.

On the show Farmer Will ended the series with Jaimee, the woman he had grown closest with on his journey for love. Meanwhile, Hayley was one of Farmer Matt’s girlfriends, and she left the show in finale week, with Farmer Matt choosing Tara.

All’s well that ends well, right? Farmer Matt and Farmer Will found their loves and we all lived happily ever after?

Not quite…

Who is pregnant and why is it such a big deal?

Hayley has now revealed she’s pregnant and the father of her baby is… Farmer Will.

“I am 22 weeks pregnant with Farmer Will’s child. I started my relationship with Farmer Will in December, before the reunion episode was filmed a few weeks later in January. He told me he wasn’t with Jaimee and Jaimee was in contact with me before the reunion,” Hayley said in a statement to news.com.au.

“We’d started chatting online. [Then] I visited him at his house in Longwood and our sexual relationship started. He told me he had feelings for me and I had feelings for him. From there, I saw him as often as I could, staying at his house for a few days at a time.”

Hayley then said after another woman contacted her on Instagram to confess her feelings for Will, she decided to end things.

“On the 2nd April I left his house thinking, ‘I’m never coming back, I’m done.’ The next morning I found out I was six weeks pregnant,” Hayley said. “I’ve tried to keep things amicable with him, to be clear on what his involvement with our child will be. I’ve asked him to all the appointments and he did come to the ultrasound.”

OK, so what did Farmer Will say?

Farmer Will has declined to comment to the media, but as news.com.au also reported he put up a rather cryptic Instagram story yesterday.

Has Jaimee and/or Farmer Matt said anything?

Jaimee’s Instagram is currently locked down on private and she is no longer following Farmer Will. Farmer Matt’s last Instagram post was about the upcoming reunion.

Is Hayley OK?

Finishing her statement to news.com.au, Hayley had this to say:

“At the end of the day, I have decided to keep the baby because I have enough love for this child with or without a biological father. I will be enough for him or her.”

Will the upcoming reunion air this messy saga?

Apparently not – the reunion is set to air August 11, and it looks like Farmer Will will be appearing on the reunion with Jaimee, though it’s not known if they’ll be “together” or not on the episode. The reunion was filmed in January, and Farmer Will and Hayley looked to have ended things around April.
