Ziara From ‘FBoy Island’ Has Answered Some Spicy Questions
FBoy Island is the newest reality show to hit Aussie screens, and the self-aware and fun format put a brand new spin on TV dating.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, we followed three leading ladies Molly O’Halloran, Ziara Rae, and Sophie Blackley as they tried to find love on an island. Half of their potential matches were self-declared FBoys, only in it for the money, while the other half were Nice Guys.
If the ladies chose an FBoy, he could decide to take a prize of $50,000 and ditch the relo. If they picked a Nice Guy, the couple would split the cash.
Now that contestants have been given access to their social media accounts, they’ve been spilling some piping hot tea. Our fan fave Ziara, who ended up exchanging declarations of love with Izaya Leota during the final ceremony, has just answered some spicy questions on Instagram. On if Cory and Izaya slept in her bed during their 24-hour dates:
While it looked like runner-up Cory slept with Ziara on their 24-hour date, this was simply ~TV magic~.
“We actually had these beds set up in the villa that didn’t make the edit called cots. So me and the girls had the obvious decision whether we wanted the boys to sleep in our beds or not. I didn’t want Cory in my bed,” Ziara said. “The audio that plays over our date makes it look like we slept together, is literally me eating strawberries. Producers needed to create the illusion of me having a tough decision to make because I really didn’t.”
“I did have Izaya sleep in my bed, and after the finale, our winners were allowed to come and have a sleepover too which was fun.”
On why it seemed like Izaya was laid back when it came to pursuing her:
“That’s what I liked about him though, he was never the first to jump the gun. But a lot of our scenes did get cut out, because we were literally all over each other all the time. We were making out everywhere, it was ridiculous, and it would’ve been so obvious if they put it all in.”

On what would happen if the leading ladies both liked the same guy:
“This was one of my burning questions coming onto the show, I was so confused. I was like, ‘Who’s going to go for who, what if we like the same guy?’,” she recalled. “But it all happened so organically, and half of the guys are FBoys and they’re there for the money, so they’ll go for whoever’s giving them the chat.”
On if she was shocked by what played out on air:
FBoy Island had its fair share of outrageous moments, with the worst being when Caleb said Molly’s previous partner cheated because she “ain’t got no good pussy”. Yep, he really said that.
Ziara said that watching the show was shocking, because there were so many unseen moments that she wasn’t prepared for. “There were quite a few scenes that shocked me to watch, if we weren’t physically there, we had no idea what was going on. We obviously didn’t know what the boys said in their confessionals or to each other. There were some head-bumping moments for all of us watching the show back,” she added.
On if there were alcohol limits on the show:
“We were lucky, we were allowed two standard drinks per hour and the bartenders would log down who’s drinking what. But if you’re a lightweight like me, that is more than enough.”
On what filming a reality TV show is really like:
Ziara is a model, so she’s had plenty of experience when it comes to working with a camera crew. However, she told fans that she found FBoy Island “completely bizarre” and admitted she was pretty nervous.
“Honestly, nothing really prepares you for this. When I walked out for the first time, everything was such a blur. I don’t think anything really prepares you for filming a reality show because you don’t know who you’re gonna meet, but it all worked out.”
On her long-distance relationship with Izaya:
Ziara is based in Melbourne while Izaya lives in the Gold Coast, but these cuties haven’t spent more than a week apart so far.
“We’ll figure out who’s going to move where later, but for now we’re just enjoying life. It’s actually fun doing long-distance because it’s a change of scenery, we’re enjoying it,” she gushed.
