PSA: Jennifer Lawrence Has Finally Addressed Her Rumoured ‘Affair’ With Liam Hemsworth

After years of wondering, our Hunger Games queen Jennifer Lawrence has finally answered a burning question of mine. While she was busy being the Katniss to Liam Hemsworth’s Gale, did their onscreen chemistry end up spilling into their personal lives? 

We all know that Liam was in a pretty rocky relationship with Miley Cyrus when they met on The Last Song in 2009, and though they ended up tying the knot in 2018, the pair parted ways for good in 2020.

One of Miley’s first singles after her divorce was Flowers (and if that’s now stuck in your head, I am truly sorry), and she took aim at her ex while strutting around in a Saint Laurent gold dress. The first thing fans noticed was that the dress looked awfully similar to Jennifer’s gold dress that she wore to the Hunger Games premiere in 2012… so, was this a dig towards J-Law?

Apparently not. While promoting her new film No Hard Feelings on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Jennifer firmly debunked any cheating rumours, saying that Miley’s gold dress was just a “coincidence”. 

“Not true,” she said. “We all know [Liam and I] only kissed one time, and it was years after they broke up, so I just assumed [the dress] was a coincidence.”

The actress added that it wasn’t a great feeling when the rumours started flying, saying: “If five people at a party think you slept with someone’s boyfriend, it’s really upsetting. And then you multiply it by – I’m not good at the math – eight billion.”

Jennifer kinda stirred up some mystery around her relationship on the very same show, back in 2015. When asked if she’d ever locked lips with Liam, she admitted they’d shared a cheeky kiss at one point. 

“Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?” she teased. 

Okay, but I still have a few questions. When did this kiss take place, and was there ever any secret romance going on in the background? Did we get robbed of a potential Hollywood love story? J-Law, you’ve gotta give us some more, we need the tea.
