Why These 3 Rather Crucial Celebs Were Missing From The Logies
The 2023 TV WEEK Logies were filled with drama, from the messy Married at First Sight cast fighting on the red carpet to controversy surrounding Sonia Kruger’s Gold Logie win. But there were a few notable celebs missing – including Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou, MAFS’ Domenica Calarco and Kyle Sandilands.
So, what happened?
Why wasn’t MAFS’ Domenica Calarco at The Logies?
Domenica is one of the most famous MAFS contestants from Season 9, but she wasn’t invited to The Logies this year. There are some theories floating around as to why, with one being that none of the Season 9 cast were invited (after being replaced by the shiny new Season 10 cast).
But wait, Dom was also on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here this year – so surely that makes her at least a contender for the guest list. Could it be her celeb ‘feud’ that caused her invite to be thrown in the trash? ICYMI: the podcaster had some beef with Keri-Anne Kennerley in the jungle, and famously called her a c-u-next-tuesday.
So, that brings us to the next theory – one that Dom actually came up with herself.
On her Instagram story, Dom shared a photo of her nemesis KAK on the red carpet, with a somewhat salty message that read: “Now I know why I wasn’t invited to The Logies this year…”
Spicy. We wish we could’ve seen their reunion on the red carpet.
Why wasn’t Kyle Sandilands at The Logies?
Kyle was supposed to present the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Children’s Program, but ended up pulling out just three days before the event. Apparently, organisers wanted him to have his son Otto with him during the ceremony, but weren’t able to promise the radio host an early night.
“I’ve had to pull the pin. I told them to shove it in their arse – exact words,” Kyle said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“I had to bring my child out, who’s not even one, to present the best Sesame Street or some kids things or whatever. It was supposed to be 10 past eight but they can’t guarantee that it’s going to be before nine.”
“[My] exact words were ‘Shove it in your arse.’ I’m not doing it.”
Why wasn’t Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou at The Logies?
Ada has been open about her love for The Logies in the past, and was up for the Most Popular Actress this year. She’s actually been nominated seven times over her career, but sadly, has never won. Tbh, she deserves a Logie for the sheer amount of stabbings, kidnappings and dead husbands she’s endured as Leah Patterson in Summer Bay.
She decided to skip the award show this year in favour of spending some quality time with her fam, which melts our cold hearts just a lil bit.
