Netflix’s Love Is Blind has wrapped up for another dramatic season, and while we’re used to having a new villain every season, this year that crown fell on someone more unexpected.

After doing a live reunion finale for the first time in the show’s history, Love is Blind fans have turned against hosts Vanessa and Nick Lachey after their hosting skills left a lot to be desired.

Vanessa in particular appeared to have some real bias against certain contestants, talked over co-host and husband Nick, and consistently pushed the remaining couples for answers on when they’d have kids. Vanessa went particularly hard on contestants Paul and Marshall, even after they answered her questions with as much honesty as they could.

She also made fans angry when she hosted a separate chummy interview with Jackie and Josh. This was then followed up with Vanessa calling out Marshall (Jackie’s ex) on making faces during the interview and pressing him for answers on what went wrong between him and Jackie, even after he appeared blindsided by some of the answers in Jackie’s interview (like Jackie’s accusation that Marshall wanted to propose to another contestant).

As for Paul, Vanessa badgered him on why he didn’t find his ex Micah “nurturing” and every time he answered succinctly and said he didn’t want Micah to have to change for him, it didn’t seem good enough. It was truly bizarre behaviour from a host! Vanessa later sent apology flowers to Paul after he called her out on her interviewing style and personal bias.

The whole Love Is Blind reunion episode was pretty painful to watch, and fans have taken to Twitter to express their distaste for Vanessa’s (and Nick’s) hosting.

Perhaps it’s time for a change of hosts next season? Lauren and Cameron, step up please!
