Why This Moment Was Deleted From Madeleine’s MAFS Wedding

Married At First Sight wasn’t lacking drama by any stretch, but production decided to chuck in another three couples regardless. And with their weddings we were brought to a whole new level of mayhem.

Madeleine and Ash’s wedding, in particular, was rather chaotic. We witnessed Madeleine “raw-dogging” her vows and opening them with the phrase “I’m annoying” before both laughing, crying and saying “I love you” to her brand new husband (and the dude she just met) at the altar. But apparently there was even more mayhem than we saw on screen.

An insider who was a guest at the wedding spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle, saying “everyone was confused” by Madeleine’s behaviour and “she kept trying to produce the show” during the wedding ceremony and reception.

“Madeleine kept pausing the ceremony to direct the camera operators, sound guys and producers herself,” the insider shared. “Halfway through her vows she’d suddenly stop, turn around and shout things like, ‘Can I get a close-up shot here?’ and other demands.”

And for those who saw the episode, you’ll remember Madeleine’s rogue comment during her wedding ceremony where she stared directly down the barrel of the camera and asked: “They’re recording everything? The whole time?” It was a super rare moment in MAFS, where the edit usually tries to remove any mention of the show being a show.

The insider also shared that this behaviour carried on for the rest of Madeleine’s time on Married At First Sight, where she had a lot of “demands” towards to crew adding to everyone’s suspicions that she was a “fake bride” on the show. It’s not helped that Madeleine is actually an actress – appearing on 55 episodes of Home & Away as well as roles in Wentworth and Offspring. But yet when she shares what she does for work on the show, she doesn’t mention her acting experience but instead says she’s a medium.

It’s all a bit confusing, to be honest. But hopefully it becomes clearer as we get deeper in MAFS, what Madeleine is really there for.
