In News None Of Us Want To Hear, Apparently Booka & Brett Are Headed For A Nasty Split
They are this season’s relationship goals, but if you were pinning all your hopes and dreams on Booka Nile and Brett Helling going the distance on Married at First Sight, well….look away now.
Pegged as the experiment’s hipster couple, metal musician Booka and psych student Brett seemed like the perfect match. Even while the show has been airing, they’ve been posting cute pics of each other on Instagram, alongside funny and thoughtful captions. I was truly convinced that these two were happily still together.
But according to So Dramatic! podcast, the MAFS dream couple are going to break up and exit the show in…two weeks. “I can confirm that these two are no longer together and not only that, they don’t even make it to the final vows,” host Megan Pustetto claims.
Even worse, their breakup sounds like a real mess with both Booka and Brett spinning different stories about what happened. According to Brett’s camp, Pustetto said that, “Someone contacted me saying, ‘I work with Brett’s best friend, he went out for dinner with Brett last Friday night, this would have been back in January, and he [Brett] said he’s really worried he’s going to get a bad edit and…that Booka is a nutcase. He’s literally going round telling people that Booka is crazy,” Pustetto claimed.
Another person who claims to know Brett also told the podcast host: “They definitely do not last. He reckons he’s going to get a bad edit, he said the chick he got married to was a psycho. He’s back in Geelong and telling people they’re not together.”
However, Pustetto said that she’s spoken to other MAFS contestants, who told her that the split was not due to anything Booka did. “The real reason things go pear-shaped for Booka and Brett is because Booka allegedly encountered a lot of sexism from Brett on the show. A source close to Booka dished to So Dramatic! [that] ‘Booka is a staunch feminist and Brett made a number of comments about her — and women in general — that didn’t sit well with her. He bragged that he had a fetish for Japanese women, cracked jokes that women can’t drive, classic fake woke sexist shit,” Pustetto relayed.
“He also joked about being gay with Patrick and that they were going to run off together. Booka didn’t like how he spoke about gay people because she was like, ‘well, you can be affectionate with one of your mates without having to put a label on it,’ and she just felt that he was insecure in his identity.”
Pustetto said she doubts that any of this will make the episodes. “He was very calculated with how he played things, and how he acted when the cameras were rolling. He would say one thing on camera, then another thing off.”
This doesn’t just sound like a regular breakup, this sounds like a disaster.
