Harrison Boon was this year’s undisputed Married at First Sight villain, a role he wore well.

From his rocky on-off relationship with wife Bronte Schofield which resulted in her dumping him and walking out of the final dinner party, to his penchant for meddling in other people’s relationships, Harrison hasn’t kept under the radar in the 2023 season of MAFS.

Since the show has been airing, he’s given a couple of interviews, including going on the Kyle & Jackie O show to attempt to clear his name and admit to his wrongdoings.

“I’m watching things back and think ‘Oh I shouldn’t have done that’. Like when Bronte and I get in an argument, I do not listen. I do not listen to other people. I wait for my opportunity to drop those truth bombs or I’m listening for weaknesses in their argument instead of what they’re saying,” Harrison said.

While on his damage control tour, Harrison has decided to sit down for an interview with Married at First Sight alum Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding for their Sit With Us podcast.

Here are some of the main takeaways from Harrison’s interview with MAFS‘ Dom and Ella.

Harrison admitted to looking like a “gaslighting narcissist”:

“Watching as a viewer, I hate myself on the show,” Harrison said.

He then touched on how his past working as a stripper shaped him into who he is today:

Harrison said he ended up making more money on the weekends then what he was doing in his construction job. “I was building homes during the week and homewrecking on weekends,” he joked.

“When you do that job, especially as a male, you take on a persona, like you think you’re God’s gift. When you go into a hen’s party, chicks want a ripped, confident, alpha male. That job in itself develops some narcissism to an extent.”

He thinks his jokes sometimes didn’t land:

“I think people mistake my sense of humour, I play into that. But I’m really taking the piss out of myself. I remember watching the show and saying ‘women think I’m hot’ then they wouldn’t capture the part where I said ‘that’s a joke, guys.'”

His ex cheated on him:

“People think I’m a heartless fuckboy for no reason, but I have a reason,” he said. “That was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through.”

Ella didn’t believe his emotions when talking about his past relationship and son:

Harrison teared up talking about his son and Ella said she can’t feel the emotion. “It’s hard for me to believe the emotion, you are sitting here crying, but even right now I’m sitting here and I don’t feel like it’s real. Don’t take this the wrong way,” Ella says. “How could I not be insulted by you saying my feelings aren’t real?” Harrison replied.

Awkwaaaard.

Harrison claimed that any scenes that made Bronte look bad were cut:

He spoke about one incident on their honeymoon where he set up a date and Bronte launched into a tirade about one of her ex-boyfriends. “While all of that stuff is valid, I was like, we’re on our honeymoon, I want to get to know you, and it felt like she was trying to throw an ex under the bus.

“And then at the end of the conversation she turned to the producer and goes ‘was that good?’ and I was like ‘what?!’ That’s not how you end a conversation with someone!” Harrison recalled.
