They were the Italian love story that kept us hooked from their wedding to their final vows, but sadly for Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar by the Married at First Sight reunion the couple had split.

It still hurts.

During Dom and Jack’s final vows they decided to give their relationship a try, yet six weeks later they both revealed they were only friends. Despite these claims, viewers, costars and the experts noticed that sparks still flew between the former couple throughout the reunion, suggesting that maybe Dom and Jack weren’t completely over.

Jack has taken to Instagram overnight to put us all out of our misery, but it’s not the news we were hoping for. “Dom, you made this experience what it was, what it is, and what I will always remember to be, as one of the most incredible adventures of my life,” Jack wrote.

He then went on to address his current relationship status. “I have learnt so much about myself, and although I may walk into this next chapter ‘single’ I am not alone because I know I have Dom, and the amazing lifelong friends I made on the way by my side.”

Dom hasn’t posted recently to her Instagram feed, but she posted an image of herself and Jack after Monday’s finale, captioned “Soulmates come in all different forms.”

In a curios development, Dom gave an interview with 9Entertainment where she claimed that she and Jack were still very much together, which contradicts Jack writing he was single.

“We’re still together but how do you want to label that? I just don’t think it’s worth labelling,” she said. “We’re just going with the flow, we’re hanging out. We’re going out. We’re spending time together.”

Dom said the exes agreed that they didn’t wish to label what they were at this stage. “Jack and I are both people that don’t want to put labels. I think it just adds the extra pressure, and the extra pressure on top of everything that we’re feeling right now in reliving the show and all the dramas entangled on that… The pressure of putting a label on anything right now is not what we need.”

In the same interview, Jack added that watching MAFS together has rebonded the former couple. “Watching all those moments that we were together and obviously we had so many beautiful scenes, it does bring back so many memories,” he said.

“In terms of the future I don’t know. Whatever does happen, happens… We built this amazing team throughout our time within the experiment. We built this bond between us both. It was and will forever be there.”

While neither want to confirm if they’re officially together, it’s low-key baffling that Jack has posted that he’s single. We assume by Dom saying that the exes don’t want to label themselves that this means that Jack is technically single, but it’s still confusing all the same.

This (vague and conflicting) news follows Ella Ding confirming on Tuesday morning that she had split with Mitch Eynaud. This means the only couple still (publicly) dating from this season are Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie.
