The first week of The Masked Singer has ended, and it’s time where we re-group, collect our clues and hints, and figure out who we think is hiding behind the masks.

As someone who is a queen at snooping and sleuthing, The Masked Singer is definitely one of my must-watch shows. The first three episodes that kicked off the season had a lot to unpack. We met all of the masks, we unmasked three celebs, and we were introduced to three new panellists.

This week, Australia unmasked Knight, Caterpillar, and Thong, but before we get into who they were, we’re gonna go through our clues on who is still hiding amongst the masks after week one.

So without further ado, here’s who we think is still hiding under the masks after week one of The Masked Singer:

Rooster

Rooster has an amazing voice and they performed the iconic Bruno Mars jam, ’24K Magic’. Their clue package included an Auscar Championship poster, a book that says ‘Australia’s great churcher’, some boxing gloves, a falling chandelier, and big Matrix vibes.

Here’s who the judges think it is:

  • Chrissie Swan: David Guetta, internationally famous DJ and producer
  • Abbie Chatfield: Russell Brand, British comedian
  • Mel B: John Farnham, Aussie singer
  • Hughesy: Keanu Reeves, American actor

As a viewer, I think that Rooster would be based on someone who is extremely comfortable with performing. They stayed in character throughout their time on stage, even ‘bekerrking’ during the song. I think the Rooster could be Grant Denyer.

Here’s what the Twitter sleuths think:

Tiger

NGL, but I agree with Abbie Chatfield when she said she had a mini crush on the Tiger mask, because this Tiger is super flirtatious and I’m feeling some kinda way!!!

Tiger performed Michael Bublé’s ‘Feeling Good’ and the raspy voice was there.

Here’s who the judges think it is:

  • Chrissie Swan: Jamie Durie, famous Aussie gardener
  • Mel B: Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne, football superstar
  • Abbie Chatfield: Jett Kenny, Aussie iron man
  • Hughesy: Tom Cruise, American actor

Tiger is giving me major ‘manly vibes’ similar to Knight. I think that Tiger could possible be Chrissie Swan’s guess, Jamie Durie!

But here’s who Twitter thinks is the sultry Tiger:

Snapdragon

Snapdragon is definitely one of my favourite masks on this season. Their voice is amazing and the costume is to die for. Their clues included them holding a fan sign about comedian Jim Carrey, a palace, they were working out, and they also said “they don’t see me as I am.” The snapdragon performed ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ by Demi Lovato.

Here’s what the judges think:

  • Mel B: Peter Andre, singer
  • Abbie Chatfield: Trixie Matel, Drag Queen
  • Hughesy: Renée Zellweger, actress
  • Chrissie Swan: Courtney Act, Drag Queen

Right off the bat, I think that Snapdragon is Adam Lambert!!! The heels on the costume give it away as well as the raspy voice and, if it is, I’m going to cry. Snapdragon also had a lot of runs during their song, which Adam also does when he sings with the band Queen.

But this is what the Twitter fans think:

Popcorn

Popcorn had a lot of clues in their package. They mentioned some key phrases including “overnight success”, and the clues also showed a bible, snake, baseball, and featured photos of Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga. Their voice was absolutely amazing and familiar. They performed the house party banger, ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ by the Scissor Sisters.

Here’s what the judges think:

  • Chrissie Swan: Rick Springfield, Aussie-American Singer
  • Mel B: Troye Sivan, Aussie singer
  • Hughesy: Gotye, Aussie singer
  • Abbie: Tristan MacManus, TV presenter and pro dancer

Going off the voice and the single clue “overnight success”, I think that Popcorn could possibly the Aussie icon, Timomatic, who became famous off of the show So You Think You Can Dance. Timomatic has some successful bangers including ‘Set It Off” and ‘Parachute’.

Here’s what Twitter Masked Singer fans think:

On to the unmasked singers:

Each episode we get to see at least one person take off their mask. In episode one, it was Knight’s turn to, as Masked Singer fanatics would say, “take it off.”

Knight was revealed to be Ryan Moloney, AKA Toadie Rebecchi from Neighbours.

On the second episode, Caterpillar was the chosen one to be unmasked. But before we get into who it is, here are some of the clues, the judges’ thoughts, and of course, Twitter!

Caterpillar

Firstly, Caterpillar is one of the cutest contestants, from the voice to the costume. Their package had wordier clues, with key phrases like “coast to jungle”, “jumping” and “world champion” being thrown out, and they also had a map and someone ironing some clothes, which was weird.

Here’s who the judges thought it was:

  • Abbie: Carrie Bickmore
  • Hughesy: Sally Pearson
  • Chrissie Swan: Emily Seebohm
  • Mel B: Schapelle Corby

For once, I actually agreed with Hughesy. I thought it would be Sally Pearson as all the clues fit her vibe and her career.

Here’s what Twitter Masked Singer fans thought:

But, Caterpillar was revealed to be the one and only Aussie swimming superstar, Lisa Curry!

And for the final episode of the week, we were met with our first Masked Singer duel.

The first two to battle it out in song for this season was Blowfly and Thong. But unfortunately, Thong fell short to Blowfly and it was their time to “take it off!”

Despite our first prediction of thong being Bindi Irwin…we were completely off.

Judges initially thought that Thong was:

  • Mel B: Ruby Rose
  • Abbie Chatfield: Isla Fisher
  • Hughesy: Iggy Azalea
  • Chrissie Swan: Bindi Irwin

Thong was revealed to be Australian Actress Pia Miranda, most known for Looking for Alibrandi, Neighbours, Wentworth, and, of course, Survivor.

So far, none of the panelists have been correct on their guesses, but I truly stand by the idea that Melody Thornton from the Pussycat Dolls is amongst The Masked Singers as Mirrorball.

Catch The Masked Singer at 7:30 pm Sunday to Tuesday on Channel 10 and 10 play.
