4 Internet Theories To Explain That Chaotic Cliffhanger On ‘Tiny Pretty Things’
For the last two years, I’ve associated Christmas with watching Netflix murderfest You but due to the pandemic we will have to wait a little longer for the new season. Thankfully, Tiny Pretty Things has arrived just in time to fill the You-shaped hole in all our hearts.
The series is set at a prestigious ballet school, which is rocked to its core when one of its students is pushed off the roof of the school. The ten-episode season sees a new student try to discover who pushed her, and in turn, finds out a lot more about the inner workings of the college than what she bargained for.
FYI: This post includes many, many series spoilers.
The final episode culminates in the students uniting to expose the school for exploiting them — well, namely headmaster Monique DuBois pimping out ballerinas — and an incriminating recording is played during Ramon’s showcase. Following the performance, Monique is questioned by the police and is later seen back at the school fighting to stay in her position, but with Bette’s mum looking likely to take over her role.
Then PLOT TWIST, in the show’s final seconds, Officer Isabel finds Neveah, Bette, and June standing over Ramon’s dead body — with a stake in his heart. If we’ve learnt anything from this show, then we know the most obvious suspects aren’t usually the people who did it. Tbh, I think we can strike these three dancers from the suspect list.
So who stabbed Ramon? Reddit and Twitter have many theories.
4 Internet Theories To Explain That Chaotic Cliffhanger On Tiny Pretty Things:
1. June’s mum killed Ramon
People on Twitter are convinced that June’s mum, Maricel, killed Ramon and you can’t blame them considering the last thing she said to him was: “tell anyone about this, I’ll kill you.” The big secret she’s covering up is that Ramon is actually June’s biological father, and it didn’t sound like Ramon was going to keep her secret. In addition, during this exchange he said to her that June’s role as the lead in his showcase was being recast, so she has plenty of reasons to get rid of him.

2. Delilah killed Ramon
This theory seems like the most likely option — which makes me think it’s a red herring. We found out in the season’s final episode that it was Bette’s sister Delilah who pushed Cassie off the roof, so we know she is capable of murder.
Her motivation for pushing Cassie was that she was making moves on Ramon — she felt threatened by Cassie both romantically and professionally. However, after everything she did for Ramon, he ends up dumping Delilah, so she probably thinks her career is over and could have stabbed him in an act of desperation. “[It’s] Delilah if [Ramon] Costa had told her he’s gonna give her part to June AKA his bio kid! She didn’t hesitate pushing Cassie off the ledge and didn’t care about throwing her sister’s future away,” one Redditor wrote.
3. Caleb killed Ramon
This is another interesting theory: did fellow student Caleb kill Ramon? Some viewers reckon he did so out of jealousy. “Caleb: got all jelly when he understood Madame Monica and [Ramon] Costa were doing it,” a user wrote on Reddit. I don’t know if Caleb would kill out of jealousy, but he might to protect to one he loves — and that’s Monique. The episode ended with Caleb standing with Monique and since Ramon had a lot of dirt on the school’s headmaster (and nothing left to lose), maybe Caleb killed him to protect her reputation.
4. Cassie killed Ramon
This is the most convincing theory imho. If you cast your mind back to before the final scene, we see Cassie returning to school and Bette confronting her for falsely accusing Bette of pushing her off the roof. “You can’t win,” she told Cassie, who replied, “Oh Bette, I already have.” Could this be referring to the fact she just killed Ramon, the same man who attacked her while she was still in hospital and is blackmailing her?
A Reddit user posed a similar theory: “I definitely feel like they wanted us to believe it was his daughter [June], but I remembered what Cassie said that she had a plan or something and a list of ppl so I feel like maybeeeee she could have killed him, possibly for leaving her for Delilah.” Another factor to consider is that without Ramon in the picture, Delilah would have never pushed Cassie off the roof — so Cassie has more than a few motives to get revenge on him.
Fingers crossed the show gets a second season and we can find out what actually happened.
