Penn Badgley Is Narrating TikToks As Joe From ‘You’ And It’s Low-Key Unnerving

In case you were in desperate need of some more Joe Goldberg in your life, the You character has now bled into IRL.

Actor Penn Badgley has posted videos posing as Joe and narrating random people on TikTok. These TikToks will probably either turn you on or terrify you — depending on how you feel about Joe on You.

In the first video posted on the Netflix TikTok account, Joe is watching a user do their laundry. “Drew, you asked me to narrate your life. Today is your lucky day,” Joe begins. As Drew soaks his jacket in water, Joe ponders, “Every stain, like a broken relationship, can be treated.”

It’s very weird and low-key deranged.

The second TikTok hits closer to home, as Joe watches someone as they browse a bookshop, which calls back to how he first encountered Guinevere Beck in Season 1. User Kasey is in the manga section, as Joe says “Hello, you. Oh the manga section, okay. You have my attention.”

As the TikTokker picks up a copy of manga series Akira, he continues, “You want to be seen reading it, don’t you? Seen by me. Don’t turn around. Seen by me,” Joe leers. It’s low-key creepy, but I still absolutely want Badgley to do more of these videos.

The latest season of You has proven to be divisive among fans. The response comes in stark contrast to Season 3 of You which proved to be both a commercial and critical success. After dropping in 2021, the series charted in the top ten on Australian Netflix and was even been hailed as the best season the show has produced.

Every episode of You can be streamed on Netflix.
