Abbie Has Finally Confirmed That She Split With Konrad Months Ago
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: breakup season is in full swing. Over the weekend, Abbie Chatfield took to Instagram to confirm that she and Konrad Bien-Stephen have broken up following rumours of alleged hookups and her ‘friend-zoning’ him.
The Masked Singer judge opened up to her followers, confirming the sad news via her Instagram Stories. Abbie assured her fans that there’s no bad blood between the two and that they’ve been broken up for a couple of months. “Konrad and I are broken up, we’ve been broken up for a couple months now. No one did anything bad or awful,” Abbie said.

Abbie also wanted to emphasise that the relationship did not end because they were open, which means that either party can sleep with or date other people outside of the relationship, just a quick FYI if you didn’t know.
“It’s not because we were in an open relationship,” the Bachy star said. “It happened a couple of months ago, but yeah, nothing bad happened. Please don’t write articles [saying we split] because we were in an open relationship. It wasn’t.”
In an episode of Abbie’s It’s A Lot podcast, Abbie and Konrad confirmed that the pair were in an open relationship, with Abbie joking “I’ve never ever valued monogamy… My kink is wanting him to f*ck other people.”
Rumours of a split first trickled through the reality TV grapevine a couple of weeks ago when an insider involved in the filming of The Challenge told the Daily Mail that Konrad had been hooking up with fellow Bachy star, Megan Marx. “Konrad said he was single and his relationship with Abbie was over because she broke up with him,” they claimed. The insider had also alleged that Konrad was only hooking up with Megan as a tactic to make his Bachelorette ex Brooke Blurton jealous.
After rumours began circulating, Abbie responded via her Instagram Stories, saying she will not comment on any breakup rumours until Konrad returns back to Australia while adding, “both of us are totally okay.”
More rumours around the potential Konrad and Abbie split were shared last week, when an insider also claimed that Konrad was ghosted and ‘friend-zoned’ by Abbie. “Konrad was telling everyone on set that Abbie had stopped answering his calls and texts weeks before he jetted overseas,” they claimed.
The reality TV pair met last year while Brooke’s season of The Bachelorette was airing, and they were spotted snogging in public during Konrad’s run on the show.
Abbie then hard-launched her relationship with Konrad during Brooke’s finale week, which led The Bachelorette to call out Abbie’s motives, labelling her timing as an example of “narcissism” and “white privilege”. Abbie did apologise and it seemed like the pair were okay, but Brooke confirmed on Instagram this year that she and her were no longer friends.
Unfortunately, another reality TV couple bites the dust but we really are wishing both Konrad and Abbie the best.
