NO YA GRONKS: Ali Is Not Being Replaced By Nikki As ‘The Bachelorette’
A certain rumour has been circulating far and wide across the media today, suggesting Ali Oetjen is being dropped as our next Bachelorette, instead being replaced with OG fave Nikki Gogan. However, Network Ten has since denied this claim.
The rumour is based on an “insider” telling NW Magazine that following backlash from viewers, Network Ten wanted to replace Ali with another former Bachelor contestant – more specifically Richie Strahan reject, Nikki.
While Nikki has been a longtime fave to be the Bachelorette, giving Ali the flick does seem a tad harsh. The network has since informed us that Ali hasn’t been dropped.
“The rumour that Ali Oetjen will be replaced by Nikki Gogan as The Bachelorette is completely false and misleading. Network Ten is looking forward to Ali finding love on The Bachelorette Australia later this year,” a Network Ten spokesperson told Punkee.
It hasn’t been smooth sailing for Ali since she was crowned the Bachelorette. Viewers were not stoked with the choice, after many found her to be “boring” during her time on Bachelor In Paradise.
Things got worse when her Bachy boyfie Grant revealed (in a rather graphic description) that Ali cheated on him and that was the real reason their relationship went bust.
While we still low-key believe that Ali may not find love on our screens later this year, this doesn’t mean that Nikki is ready and willing to fill her shoes. The real estate agent has already said in no uncertain terms that she is 100 percent done with the Bachelor franchise. Sorry fam.
Who knows what will happen next?! But we’ll keep y’all posted.
