Alyssa From ‘MAFS’ Has Spoken About Duncan’s Behaviour And Revealed A Major Lie
Married at First Sight Season 10 finished five million years ago, but it seems like the drama never ends. Alyssa Barmonde appeared on the Back To Reality podcast and poured a fresh pot of tea all over her fellow brides and grooms.
While Alyssa did drop a bombshell about her sex life in the interview (which I’ll get into later), the biggest reveal happened while she was DMing some fans on Insta.
Sharing some messages defending her actions on the reality show, she called out her ex Duncan James for not standing up for her after she was painted as the ‘villain’.
“[Duncan] never once stood up for me publicly after airing. I was receiving harassment, death threats, terrible messages, people were finding my mobile number. I had to shut down my business because it was getting trolled,” Alyssa said.
If you cast your mind back to April (when the final MAFS episode aired) Alyssa copped quite a bit of backlash. Most of it revolved around her catchphrase “I have a child”, which, fair play to her, she managed to turn into a lil moneymaking scheme in the form of merch.
But although Josh White stood up for both his ex Melissa Sheppard and Alyssa, there was radio silence from Duncan on Instagram. That could’ve been because he was busy in his love bubble with Evelyn Ellis, or he just wanted to leave the drama in the past (which has probs dragged on longer than we really need… or want).
“All it would have taken [Duncan] (if he’s as great as everyone thinks) is for him to say – stop bullying Alyssa. She doesn’t deserve it, just like Josh did with Melissa,” Alyssa added.
“But he didn’t. Because it would taint his image.”
Ooft. That’s a lot to take in. I can’t help but wonder if Alyssa ‘breaking her silence’ would’ve been more effective not long after the show ended. I know the cast are all under contract with Channel Nine, so technically they’re not supposed to give any interviews. But once the cast started leaking info left, right and centre, I think the cake decorator could’ve gotten away with a sneaky chat.
What did Alyssa reveal about her sex life on the Back To Reality podcast?
Alyssa told hosts Selina Chhaur and Taku Chimwaza that she lied about when she first had sex with Duncan during MAFS. On the show, the couple shared that they’d first done the deed during Intimacy Week, but it actually happened earlier, on their honeymoon.
And who can blame her? I mean, we’ve all seen Duncan.
“We did not wait [until] Intimacy Week. So we had told everyone that we were waiting, that it never happened,” Alyssa spilled.
“Look, I don’t want to throw him under the bus because I initially agreed with him,” she added. “But he had said, ‘Look, let’s not tell anyone about this. I feel like we’ll be a bit more respected if we just wait until Intimacy Week’.”
According to Alyssa, she thought it was a “good idea” at the time, but found it tricky to hide from producers.
“Production would’ve known because my producer was always like: ‘Has it happened yet?’. And I’m probably glowing, right?” she joked, before saying it was definitely a “truth bomb”.
How did Duncan respond to Alyssa’s comments?
Duncan responded to Alyssa’s latest claims, telling Punkee that we won’t see him tearing down his ex at any point.
“I think it’s disrespectful to discuss anything physical. My focus is on my relationship with Evelyn, not something that happened last year,” he told Punkee.
“I won’t talk negatively about Alyssa, even though she continues to do so about me. I wish her all the best.”
