Wait, Did Duncan Just Confirm Josh And Alyssa Are Dating?
Calling all MAFS–obsessed humans (AKA my favourite brand of human), because Duncan James, Ollie Skelton and Rupert Bugden have accidentally revealed some very spicy info.
Cast your mind back a few months, when Disney Daddy Josh White shared a super sweet, personal and long post on Instagram about his good friend Alyssa Barmonde. Dating rumours catapulted off that post immediately, and the two didn’t help their case when Alyssa later admitted she wished she was paired with Josh from the start during an Instagram Q&A.
In June, the Daily Mail reported that Alyssa and Josh were seen going on a cute double date with Tahnee Cook and Ollie (one of the best love stories from this year, IMO), but since then, we haven’t seen the pair in public together. When asked for a comment about his potential relo with Alyssa, Josh told us at the time: “In the words of Kylie Minogue, ‘I Should Be So Lucky’.”
I could write an entire essay decoding that statement. But, there is more info to consider, so moving swiftly forward!
During an episode of Ollie’s podcast Tosser, Duncan made a simple comment that literally made me jump up and run to the keyboard.

When Duncan was explaining why he went to Rupert before making things official with Evelyn, he said that it was out of respect, which is why Josh also reached out to Duncan. “Josh wasn’t asking me, Josh was just telling me, informing me, because he thought it was the right thing to do. I was like, ‘Bro, go for it. I’m happy for you.’,” Duncan said.
Okay, so things were serious enough for Josh to approach Duncan, before pursuing Alyssa?

But wait a sec, if you were hoping for an Alyssa-Josh endgame, I’m gonna have to burst your bubble.
Josh actually referenced the date during an Instagram Q&A a few days ago, saying that he didn’t “agree” with the way the media reported on their lil romance. “[I] didn’t provide a comment then. We went on a date. It was lovely. There are no future dates planned,” he told his followers.
He did spill to Punkee that he did in fact, reach out to Duncan before the date happened.
“I spoke with Duncan to ask and tell him as [I] felt that was the right thing to do,” he said. “I didn’t want him finding out in the press, which is what would have ended up happening.”
Alyssa responds to Duncan’s comments on the Tosser podcast.
Alyssa agreed with Josh, saying that things fizzled out before they really got started. “Josh and I went on a date ages ago, but we are just friends and it was [only] one date,” she told Punkee.
However, after hearing how Duncan went to Rupert out of respect for his prior relationship with Evelyn, Alyssa was left miffed by the podcast comments. “I feel like it was weird Duncan brought that up ‘cause neither him nor Evelyn gave me the same respect for their relationship,” she told Punkee. Yikes.
Dunc’s latest podcast appearance has certainly stirred up some drama, adding to the never-ending pot of steaming hot tea that has poured out of this season.
