‘Pretty Little Liars’ Is Getting A Reboot & Haven’t We Been Tortured By A Enough?
It’s a world of reboots and we’re all just existing in it: while we’re all ready to relive the dramas of Manhattan’s elite with the new Gossip Girl coming soon, HBO Max has confirmed they’re also rebooting Pretty Little Liars.
Titled Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, the new look PLL will take place in the present-day, but be focused on 20 years after “a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart.”
The reboot is set to be darker than the original series, which given some of the storylines we witnessed back in the day is really something. I guess nothing was more traumatic than Toby’s du-rag though.
Let’s go through what to expect from the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin reboot:
Why?
I know. “Why?” I cry at night, thinking I had been released from the clutches of a deranged A and knowing I won’t have the willpower not to watch the reboot. “Why?” I ask my reflection, still mildly traumatised over the fact Alison and Emily are out there raising Wren’s twins. “Why?” I whispered to the postman, who ran away from me because he’s sick of me talking about the episode where Hanna found a note in her tooth, but he’s the only human I’ve seen in days.
Who?
The new series will come from the brains of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, who both worked on The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.
Chandler Kinney and Maia Reficco have been cast as the first two Liars: Tabby (played by Chandler) a horror movie fanatic and aspiring director, and Noa (Maia) a promising track star who’s trying to get her life back on track (no pun intended) after a stint in juvie.
No word on who will play the Wine Moms just yet.
Where?
The series will be set in the fictional town of Millwood. Rosewood found dead!
What to expect:
The series will be set 20 years after the show’s events, following the brand-new group of liars who all of a sudden find themselves harassed by an anonymous person who is determined to make them pay for both their parents’ sins as well as their own.
Let’s just hope it’s not Spencer’s twin.
When?
Production is due to kick off in New York soon so hopefully it’ll hit our screens sometime next year. Which just gives us more time to binge-watch the original series again, right?
