Channel 10 lost a bunch of high-profile talent last year, with I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! host Dr Chris Brown defecting to Channel Seven and media personalities like Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar leaving The Project

But it looks like network execs have gone all out for their 2024 entertainment slate – and have just announced that Robert Irwin will be hosting a reality TV show for the first time ever. The wildlife warrior will be co-hosting I’m A Celeb along with Julia Morris, which is a pretty big win for the network.

Robert has filled in for weatherman Sam Mac on Channel Seven’s Sunrise in the past, so Channel 10 has somehow managed to snatch him out of their competitor’s grasp.

“It’s a huge honour to be the new co-host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” Robert said in a statement. “I can’t wait to plunge back into the incredible African jungle and introduce our celebrities to the magnificent wildlife that call the jungle home.”

“Most of all, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the incredibly kind and talented Julia Morris. Crikey! This is going to be a wild ride.”

His co-host Julia said she was “overjoyed” by Robert’s new role, saying that he’s going to be “spectacular”. “Audiences will be peaking at how much fun we have in store. You might think Robert and I are an unlikely duo, but it turns out we’re a magical combination! Season 10, here we come!” she added.

What do we know about I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Season 10?

The network is planning to “pull out all the stops” for their 10th season and have teased a drama-filled season to come. “With plenty of fun and laughter, [there will be] the most hideous and hilarious trials seen in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! history and loads of surprises,” Channel 10 wrote in a statement.

While Robert is new to hosting, he’s apparently a complete natural. “I thought it’d be a very tricky race [to find a new co-host], but the second Robert walked through the door, there was no contest. Everybody in the room was spellbound,” Julia told news.com.au

“Once he really started, it became: ‘Oh my god, I think we just got another 10 years out of the series’,” she added.

There aren’t any rumours about which celebs will be heading into the jungle just yet, but we’ll keep you updated when we know.
