How Taylor Swift Fans Almost Ruined Her BFF’s Wedding

Taylor Swift fans have come under fire after swarming a street in Long Island Beach, New Jersey, so they could get a glimpse of their idol. The ‘Karma’ singer was attending Jack Antonoff (her best mate) and Margaret Qualley’s rehearsal dinner as part of their wedding celebrations. 

A number of other stars attended the dinner at the Black Whale restaurant, such as Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey and Zoë Kravitz – but make no mistake, the mob was there for Taylor. Videos of the packed crowd chanting “Taylor, Taylor” were shared on social media. 

According to NME, the streets became so congested that police were called to help control the crowd. When Taylor left the venue, she looked shocked by the fan behaviour, waving before getting into a car. 

Swifties slam fans that swarmed Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s rehearsal dinner to see Taylor. 

The fans who crowded the streets came under fire on Twitter (or X, I guess), with many condemning their behaviour. Some fan update accounts claimed that an insider said Taylor was upset by the mob, but I’m unsure where this rumour originated from. 

One Swiftie said she was “incredibly upset” for Taylor after seeing the videos. “She has expressed her want for some sort of personal space and privacy but people continue to mob her. You’re not a fan or a good person if you do this to any artist. They are people, leave them be,” she wrote. 

Another said the crowds of people were “treating Taylor like a zoo exhibit”, while a third said the fans “peering into a private wedding to catch a glimpse of her” was cooked behaviour. 

Taylor has had a strained relationship with paparazzi, sharing her thoughts in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. Her then-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, was only seen once during the whole film – so privacy is something she holds dear. 

Stan behaviour can quickly get out of control, and this is a good reminder that we’re not entitled to any part of a celebrity’s life. Give the girl a break!

She’s had a few high-profile relationships, being linked to Pete Davidson back in 2019, and then dating Shia LaBeouf in 2020. She split from Shia in 2021, before announcing her engagement to Jack Antonoff in 2022. 

Taylor is friendly with the couple, and was seen grabbing a bite to eat with Jack and Margaret in April, when the trio were in NYC.
